Hailey's POV
I stood at the entrance of my family's dinner waiting for Keren Owl,my best friend forever to come and get me for school."why is it that I keep waiting for her when she always makes me late?yeah because i wouldn't hear the end of it if I left to school without her".I robed my face signing in frustration.After a couple of minutes I saw her emerging from the corner of the street with so much energy.sometimes I wonder how she does that cause I'm just not a morning person.I didn't wait for her to reach me as I made my way towards her and pulled her with me to start our walk to school."well its about time you showed up I was about to go and leave you Keren.what in the world kept you so long."I asked glaring at her."calm down Hai we've still got like thirty minutes there's no need to get your panties in a twist."she said rolling her eyes at me.

After school I help my mama and papa at our small dinner.Mama called to ask me to take an other to a table occupied by an old couple, Mr and Mrs Garloss whom started having dinner here ever since their only child moved to the big city to pursue her dreams.I've always wanted to move to the big city but mama said I am only seventeen and naive."the big city is not for young selfless girls like you my child,there are always predators some where ready to feed on their preys"those are her exact words and It always gave me the chills.I greeted the old couple and put their foods before them.Mrs Garloss gave me a warm smile and thanked me as I excused myself."oh hunny before I forget were you able to get the job for the upcoming construction of the road?"Mama asked papa with hope evidence in her gray eyes.I looked nothing like my mom.she was beautiful with her gray eyes and shinny blonde hair.I was more like my dad light brown hair and chocolate pool eyes with a petit body and very pale skin and full lips red as blood.there was nothing special about me."yes I did darling and I also got to find out that this construction project was not from the governor but a very young CEO of a successful construction company in New York."Mama's eyes almost popped out upon hearing what Papa had said."well its good to know that there are still some good people in the city."Papa laughed at mama's words.

I stretched my arms feeling so tiered.I gave out a loud yown and went back to folding the napkins. I felt papas hand on my shoulder giving it a light squeeze. "You should go home and rest sweety,you look so tiered"he said giving me a sympathetic smile." Its okay papa I'm not tiered,besides you know I love helping you out here."I said giving him an assuring smile."I know sweety but you do enough by getting up at dawn to help then go to school and come back to help."he said taking my cheeks in his large palm."its okay,I'm not complaining, I love my life with you and mama and I wouldn't change it for the world."I said giving him a tight hug."enough young lady go home and get some rest."I was about to argue but his glare got me mute.

Papa called me back for my dinner and I left the diner.when I got home, I eat my dinner,took a shower and went straight to bed.
