Chapter 1: The Beginning

     Shadow's P.O.V.

"Now this is the Law of the Jungle - as old and as true as the sky;   

And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the Wolf that shall break it must die. 

As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunks the Law runneth forward and back                           

For the strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack," I recited to my father, Akela. He sat on the rock that watched all over our pack. 

"Very good, Shadow. To become a good leader, you must know The Law of the Jungle."

I heard wolves chattering. I turned to see Mowgli and Bagheera return. ' He got him again' I thought as I smiled sadly. 

I ran up to Bagheera, "You got him again didn't you?"

"Yes, I did. However, he went farther this time."

I simply smiled and nodded. I quietly thanked him and ran off to join the others.

All the pack recited The Law of the Jungle. Then we howled to the sky. This my life. Everything is perfect.
