"Hold my breath as you're moving in. Taste your lips and feel your skin. When the time comes, baby don't run. Just kiss me, slowly." ~ Parachute (Kiss Me Slowly)

Three weeks ago, my whole life changed in a matter of seconds. It went from an average life to something that I would have never imagined. Leaving many questions unanswered and the truth untold.

Three weeks ago, on a Saturday morning, I awoke to silence. My parents and brother had departed for work, long before the rays of the early morning sun woke me. My eyes fluttered open as I felt my face being licked by a slobbery little tongue. A huge smile spreads across my face when I register that Lucky was trying to wake me up.

"Hey boy, whatcha doing?" I asked as a laugh escaped my body.

I lightly pushed him off of my body and got out of my warm cocoon that is my bed. Reaching up for the ceiling, I stretch out my stiff muscles as I make my way to the corner of the room where my red hoodie lies, draped over a chair. When I put on the hoodie, I am immediately engulfed into a soft comfort. Walking over to my dresser, I quickly grab a pair of black leggings and socks, slipping them onto my body to keep warm.

Me and Lucky hop down the stairs together, when we reach the bottom Lucky runs off towards the kitchen, barking on his way there. I shake my head, he always figures out ways to tell you what he wants. I arrive at the kitchen seconds after him only to find him already trying to paw open the container that holds his food.

"Well, somebody's a little hungry."

Lucky barks at me in response and excitedly wags his tail back and forth. As I grab a handful of his food he jumps at my feet, begging for the food. I go and turn on the radio after both Lucky and I have finished our breakfast, not wanting the house to be filled with silence. I was so used to being alone, but it was one of my least favorite things. Ever since I was a little girl I have spent my days after school at home alone. While me and my brother, Carter were at school, my parents were out making money.

My mom is always the one to leave the house first, her drive was also the furthest compared to the rest of us. Her office was in the city. It takes her half an hour to get to work and another half an hour to get home. But she never complained, she loved clothes and she loved being a designer. She'd always hoped to have a daughter that she could dress up in cute little princess dresses, so it can be imagined how ecstatic she was when she found out her second born child will be a baby girl. But you can also imagine how dismayed she was when the dress up parties only lasted until fifth grade. She used to always tell me when I was growing up that I was just like my father and my brother, at the time I didn't understand, I thought she was talking about my personality, but she wasn't. She said that everybody knew, that from the moment they set eyes on me, I wouldn't be a princess that stuck her nose into shopping and pedicures. But I would be a strong young woman who loved all things dirt. It took my mom a while to get over the fact that her little princess was slowly turning into a drag queen. Who loved all things cars, just like the two older boys in her family.
