Noah and I sat in silence. Which wasn't surprising, because he didn't speak. Vivian and the others had left. Leaving Noah and I in complete darkness. Noah avoided eye contact, and he shifted weight from his left to his right foot, looking very uncomfortable. His hand still gripping his face from Wesley's punch. He took his fingers away, blood staining his fingertips.
"Shit Noah, you're bleeding," I said, finally standing up and dusting my pants off.
His eyes met mine, they were puffy and red. A drop of blood rolled down his cheek. Wesley must have been wearing a ring, there was a gash on the side of Noah's face. Noah quickly wiped the blood with his fingers.
"Did you drive here?" I asked him.
He didn't respond, his eyes not even meeting mine.
"Hello?"I waved at him, Noah immediately looked up at me, his eyes landing on my lips. Furrowing his brow, Noah squinted in the dim light. Wow, he really was attractive, fair skin, dark hair and bright blue eyes.
Snap out of it Bethany.
"Did you drive here?" I asked again.
This time, Noah nodded pointing over to an old tan car.
"Hand me your keys," I told him.
Noah looked at me skeptically, his blue eyes shining.
"Come on, I'll drive us back to my house, we can fix up that cut and then you can drive home," I assured him.
My hands were shaking. Here I was with supposedly the most dangerous boy in town, at night, in the dark, alone. This was by far the most stupid thing I'd ever done in my life. I was so angry at Wesley, he had no right to do what he had done. There was no proof that Noah had done anything wrong. So why was I so scared right now?
He's just a boy, he's done nothing wrong. In-fact he might've saved your life.
Noah looked me up and down. I let out a shaky breath. He shoved his hand in his left jacket pocket and held out his car keys. Sighing in relief I took the keys from him and started walking to the car, Noah following in suit. This whole night seemed like a dream, and I couldn't quite believe what was happening. I turned the key in the lock of the car and opened the door, clicking the button to unlock Noah's side, he quickly sat down, letting out a nervous sigh. I took a quick glance at him, his dark curls hanging in his face. I wondered why he came here, and why he was crying. Noah caught my glance, his lips turned up ever-so-slightly.
"You okay?" I asked him. I could sense his nervous energy.
Noah nodded.
"Do you ever say anything?"
The words slipped out. I didn't mean them to, blast my unfiltered mouth. Quickly Noah looked away, his eyes staring out the window. He shrugged his shoulders. I gulped, turning on the car. Why did I have to make things awkward? The ride back to my house was silent, Noah stared out the window the whole time, and I didn't bother to make anymore conversation. Archer's pass wasn't far from my house, about a five minute drive, but with the hair raising silence, it seemed like an eternity. When I finally pulled up to the curb of my house, I let out a sigh of relief. Parking a few houses down to avoid alerting my parents of my little escapade.
Noah finally looked at me again, as I shut off the car.
"We're going to sneak around back," I told him, "I left the back door unlocked."
Noah nodded.
"You'll stay outside, and I'll get some stuff to clean you up."
Noah smiled slightly, his gaze always caused me to squirm. His eyes always landing on my lips.
