As I try to comprehend what happened i walked Danny out the door and to his rental car.
Did I really just meet My not so grump?
Did he really just give me his phone number?
Is he really coming back to pick me up from work?
We got to his car and just kind of stood there for a second. Danny looked at me
"Hey so you're cool with hanging out after work? I know it's a little wired some guy comes and asks to spend time with you out of the blue a little sketchy I know. Just when I saw you I felt something and I had to act on it."
He looks me in the eyes and grabs my hand.
"Lets see where this goes?" He said as he shrugged his shoulders
I nodded.
"Sorry if I don't seem very interested I just got a cold today and am trying to process the cold and this, I mean I watch you on YouTube and listen to you on my way to work, and now you're here right in front of me. It's wired and I'm trying to determine if I'm dreaming or not you know?"
He looks at me with a sympathetic look in his eyes when I said I was sick, he starts to rub my knuckles. " I understand I'd be freaked out too, but hey I'll be back for you when you close and we can go from there if you want?"
I nod and go in for a hug, realizing it might be wired so I step back and put my arms down. It's hard for me because I'm just a natural hugger. He laughs and pulls me in for a hug.
"Don't kill anyone with your last," he looks at his phone for the time. " 2 hours? Food business is tough." I laugh and we exchange our good byes. I walk back into the restaurant and Finnish my shift and close in record time just wanting to get back to feeling like I was i a dream with Danny.
I grabbed my stuff out of the cabinet, clocked out, and grabbed my little time sheet receipt, and run out of the restaurant before they can even think about asking about me staying for some reason.
Danny's not here yet because I haven't texted him so I go to my car and sit in the driver seat.
Me: hey I'm sitting in my car because I got out early, get here when you get here no rush 😊
Danny: hey! I'm actually at TGI Fridays across the street if you'd like to join me? ☺️
Me: okay cool omw!
I pull out of the parking lot, and drive across the street, not even putting on music because it's literally a minute drive.
I walk in and there's no host so I look around for a minute, I see a giant bush of hair sitting at table in the back realizing it's dan and walk over to him. He stands up and smiles and pulls me into a hug, remembering what happened at work I blush almost embarrassed.
We sit down and look in each other's eyes for a minute. "Hey uh I got you a coke because I didn't know what you drink." He said with a goofy smile and I thank him.
"Are you hungry? I know we ate at your work but work also makes you hungry."  He laughs
"I'm down to get a appetizer and enjoy each other's company." I say with a sly smile.
He nods and we jump into talking about random things and the waiter comes over.
" hi sweetheart can I interest you in any drinks?" She asks pulling out a alcohol menu.
"Oh no thanks I'm not old enough to drink I do think we'd like an appetizer though. Danny do you like pretzels?"
He nods shocked about something.
"Can we get the pretzel sticks please?" She nods and walks away.
Danny sits there and stairs at me for a moment.
"I'm sorry how old are you? if you don't mind me asking."
Oh shit.

"Um... I'm 19..."
He almost chokes on his drink.
I fee tears prick my eyes. Oh god I fucked up.
I grabbed my purse and try to get up, he grabs my wrist.
"No please stay. I didn't mean to."
I look at him and he sees I'm upset. He starts to rub my knuckles and i calm down a bit.
"I just thought you looked older that's all it was hun."
I wiped my eyes.
I got that a lot. Despite being 5"3 people confused you for an older age all the time.
"It's not a problem unless it makes you uncomfortable and if it does please tell me."
I shook my head.
"It's okay I don't think it's weird." I said wiping the remainder of the tears in my eyes.
He tried to cheer me up by talking about random things when our pretzels arrived. We ate in content, dipping the pretzels in the beer cheese was the best part.
We hung out for a while and decided to call it a night.
He walked me to my car and he looked in my eyes, " hey uh call me when you get to the concert tomorrow I can try and get you in early so you can get some good merch and a good spot."
I smiled widely and hugged him.
"Thank you."
He smiled and I felt him looking down on me from the almost a foot distance.
"Your welcome hun, see you tomorrow?"
I nod and we get in our cars and he drives away.
I feel my heart beating so fast.
You knew you had feelings for dan, but we're the feelings or was it just you liking him? You don't know but you enjoyed what was going on.
Your phone buzzed.
Dan: hey thanks that was fun excited to see you tomorrow! ❤️
