A/n: hey all. Thanks for checking out my story. I know nobody really reads these so I'm going to keep this short and get right to the book. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy. Any criticism is welcome so long as it's constructive.
( Percy's POV)
It all started out as a perfect day. The sun was shining, the waves were crashing gently along the coastline, and Annabeth was by my side. Yeah. Everything was going great. Until we heard the scream that is. I looked at annabeth as we both jumped up and ran torwards the sound.
The scream continued as we made our way towards the camp border. Once we topped the hill, we were met by a pack of hellhounds chasing after a boy who looked to be no older than 16. "Annabeth." I said looking over to where she was standing. She gave a quick nod before pulling out her drakon bone sword, a gift from Damasen. "Let's go."
Annabeth and I sprang into action. We jumped between the pack and the boy just as the lead hellhound decided to pounce. Bringing riptide up in a deadly arch, I sliced the beast cleanly in half and watched as it turned to golden dust. I checked on Annabeth to find that she too had defeated her hellhound. "That only leaves one" I said trying to locate the lone hellhound. I found it charging directly after the new kid. With only moments to think I raised riptide above my head and threw it.
Riptide sank into the hellhound's back with a sickening thud. The monster fell and skidded to a stop at the boy's feet before exploding into gold dust. As Annabeth and I tried to catch our breath, we heard the distant shouts of campers as they made their way towards the hill. Everything else happened so quickly. The new kid picked up riptide and started yelling about how he had defeated a pack of hellhounds with the help of Annabeth while I just sat and watched. Annabeth tried to defend me but no one would believe her. "You do not have to defend him. He has done an awful thing" Chiron said looking at me.
As the rest of the campers began to leave the hill, the new kid following close behind, Annabeth walks over to me and slides her hand in mine. "Don't worry." She squeezes my hand reassuringly. "I'm sure this will all blow over by tomorrow morning."
"I hope so" I reply as the echo of a horn rings in the distance. "Come on wise girl. It's time for dinner."
When we reach the pavilion we're met with glares from the rest of the campers. "Come sit with me today Annabeth." I say realizing that they had not left a seat for her at the Athena table. When we took our seats all eyes turned to Chiron as he stood to make an announcement. "As you all know we received a new camper." He motioned and the boy stood up and walked to the middle of the pavilion. "This is Ethan lance. We do not know his parentage yet so he wil-" Chiron was cut off as a soft pink glow shown upon his face. Above Ethan's head was a pink dove. The sigil of the goddess of love herself. "Well. I stand corrected. Welcome. Ethan lance. Son of Aphrodite."
