Standing there and listening to my boss about how I would have to help the new staff get used to the job, just plainly didn't fit with me.
Just because someone had to quit and we were now hiring new people.
And since I was the most experienced one, I had to be the "teacher"."She's new and just a student. She was just looking for a part-time job while being on break." My boss told me. "Just show her the basics. You'll be the person she'll come to if she has problems or questions. You'll be like a mentor for her."
I rolled my eyes. I really wasn't in the mood for a teenager, nonstop nagging at how nasty this or that is. All those girls that looked for a job here were barbies and didn't even want to touch anything. I swear if this one is the same kind I'm going to kick her out myself. But if it's this girl that's just coming to me for every little thing... I'll go crazy.
"How old is she? Will I get a pay rise?" I eyed my supervisor and hoped she would say yes to the pay rise. I needed money, if I wanted to move out of that fuckboy house.
"She's 17, apparently." She cocked an eyebrow. "And I'll think about the pay rise. You do kind of deserve it." She gave me a smile with a wink and left the changing room.
I took a deep breath. I have a bad feeling about today. Will it be the girl? Someone in the cafe? Or maybe my neighbors, again?
I went out into the cafe that was still empty, except that one girl. I sighed a bit and walked up to her.
"Hey there. I'm Yerin and I'll be showing you the basics." I smiled at her and stretched my hand out.She looked up and smiled. While taking my hand she replied "Susan. Thanks for everything in advance."
Okay, she seems better than every other girl that wanted to work here. I nodded and went to the counter, waving to her so she would follow me.
Just as I finished explaining everything to her, Hoseok came into the cafe, like always."I-it's not open yet sir." Susan blurted and looked in panic to me. I smiled at her and patter her shoulder.
"Don't worry, he comes here everyday." I pointed to him. "He's my boyfriend by the way so keep your hands off." I whispered and laughed a bit. Her face grew a bit red.
"He-he's really handsome..." she said in a dreamy voice. "But if he's taken by Unnie, I'll accept it."
We looked at each other and laughed.
She was way better than every other girl that was here."Morning babe." Hoseok came up to the counter and smiled at me brightly. I gave him a kiss on his cheek and greeted him back.
I looked over to Susan and I got an idea.
I clapped my hands and smiled."Since you need to learn how to serve costumers and since no-one is here yet, Hoseok could be your practice partner." I smiled at both of them. Susan smiled back and Hoseok looked uncomfortable.
"But I love the coffee you make..." he pouted at me. I shook my head.
"Sorry but you're the only one that can take this role." I gave him a thumbs up and shooed him away, so he could act as if he just entered.
"Okay Susan. You just greet him and ask him what he'd like." She nodded and waited for Hoseok to come up to the counter.
"Welcome. How can I help you?" She said with an unsure voice and looked over to me. I gave her a nod and she felt a bit more confident.
Hoseok looked over to me, giving me the do-I-really-have-to-do-this look. I nodded and motioned for him to continue."A caramel macchiato with extra sugar, please." He sighed it out and gave Susan a small smile. Susan nodded and glanced over to me.
"One caramel macchiato with extra sugar, just a minute." She was about to turn around and start doing the beverage, but I stopped her and turned her back around.
