Dark was the night. The stars still shined, but it was still haunting in it's own way. Trees of shadow blew against the window pane, sounding like footsteps curling up the path. I couldn't move. My fan forced air onto my cold, pale face, making me shiver so much i might have fallen out of bed. The wind outside grew to a crescendo, howling like a wolf. I dreamed of someone next to me, holding me, so I wasn't scared, but dreams don't come . I am alone.

I thumbled out of my black and grey quilted bed sheets, face planting the floor. I got up to fetch my phone, but I heard rustling, and I couldn't identify it. I turned on the light, it wasn't inside my room. I used my phone light to walk out into the dark kitchen, the noise getting louder. I stayed quiet and hid behind a cabinet. The light switch was above my head, so I turned it on. Phil jumped and turned around to find me screaming in his face. "Phil! It's just you! Oh my god, I thought you were some demon trying to kill me.... wait, is that my cereal?" I said, madly. "It's not what it looks like! I was uh, hungry so I thought it was my cereal, because it's night, you know,  and i grabbed yours by mistake and you-" Phil explained. "Oh just have it. I give up." I interrupted. I walked back to bed and turned off the light. "Jeez, he's so cute like that." I think.
