War.
It's something we dread, and it's something that causes in us a feeling of desperation, and utter desolation. We pine for our loved ones, especially if they are out fighting.
Thankfully, we live in a time where war is highly uncommon. :)
But here's a poem, from a time when people weren't quite so lucky. Here's a poem, war-inspired. :) Mostly based on Freedom and Liberty.
P.S. No hate, pls. I was twelve. xD
As I Remember The Past
As I sat in my cell, I wondered,
What would it be like, to be free?
To roam about, without any fear,
To be filled with unending glee?
As I looked at the darkness around me,
I longed for the bright warm light;
When would I have the freedom?
When would I have the right?
I thought of my days as a child,
When all I had was liberty;
To eat and sing, and jump, and dance,
And live a life so hearty!
And as a boy, I was the same,
I was free to roam about;
But never did I imagine,
That one day; I'd be so distraught.
I thought of the war,
The war for our freedom;
When none of us had anticipated
That we'd lose our kingdom;
We brought together our forces,
And fought for days on end;
But did it do us any good?
Did the matter end?
Naught can change by thinking,
By dreaming of our lost kingdom;
When all I wish for, is the feel
Of good old liberty and freedom.
Thanks for reading. :)
