Author's Note: Just an idea. About demons this time. I read about them and the archangels in a couple of books I found in my little collection. Interesting subject. So I wanted to use them in a story. I don't know if this will work but... I'll try. And just a heads up, some chapters have overlapping events, or incidents that are happening simultaneously with events from previous chapters. Like chapter 10000 may slightly be about the same events as chapter 9999 BUT told from the point of view of a different character. *sweatdrops*

Also, votes and comments on every chapter are much appreciated! They motivate me to keep or improve the story. Thank you. *salute*

"Why do you fight it?" A cold voice asked.

The girl stared at the dark form and felt the ground shake beneath her. She had nowhere to go. She had reached the top of the cliff with no other way but to a plunging death a thousand feet below. She was trapped.

"I never chose this! I never wanted this!" She screamed at the man advancing slowly towards her.

"There's no use fighting it," he said, almost crooning. His face was hidden by the shadows cast by the night. He slowly walked towards her, taking his time. "You'll just tire yourself out."

"D-don't take another step!" Desperation was heard from her voice.

He did stop. She could see his dark form standing motionless.

"And what if I take another step?"

"I-I'll jump! I swear I'll jump and the legacy of this family will die with me," she threatened, taking a step back, almost losing her balance. "They will die with me!"

He smirked. It intrigued him. "Will you?" He sounded unconvinced. As if she was bluffing for him. He stepped forward into the light cast by the moon. "Can you really kill them? I can almost imagine them screaming inside of you. Ah... the thrill."

The panic in her eyes became even more pronounced. He took another step forward and she automatically took one backward. She felt the ground shake again.

"You want to escape them, dear sister?"

She was shivering. Her eyes were frantic and her hands had gone cold not because of the night wind but because of fear.

"Why not use your powers and attack me?" The man suggested. She didn't miss the excitement in his tone. "With the powers you gained when they chose your body as their temple."

"I will never, ever succumb to the powers of those demons. I'm not like you. You're evil!" She covered her ears as if blocking off the sounds around her. But her brother's voice rang so loud.

"You cast me out as if we're not kindred. I am your older brother." He was mocking her this time with a fake hurt expression on his face.

"You were never brotherly towards me and I will never in my life consider you that. I abhor you! I hate you!"

He laughed cruelly. "You still wish you were normal? You still wish you're not part of this family? I don't understand why you hate it. We have powers beyond the normal. If anything, you should be grateful for that," he said, lifting his hand to show her a ball of greenish light. "And you of all people, well, powerful people, should be ecstatic that your powers exceed all others, even my lightning is child's play compared to yours. You're blessed and you should feel blessed. The seven princes of Hell had chosen you. Seven very powerful demons."

"I never felt blessed being borne into this family. I've always felt I was cursed with people like you around me. You hurt people who are different from us. You use your powers to rule. You are black-hearted!"

He sighed and crushed the ball of light in his hand, causing thunderous sounds that made the ground shake some more. "The powers we have gave us those rights. Your powers alone will give you dominance over this world for all time. We can live forever as others die around us."

She felt sick hearing those words. The queasy feeling in the pit of her stomach making her dizzy.

"Give up, Kalisha. Your destiny had been sealed even before you were conceived. Though I don't understand why they chose a weak girl like you." He sneered a little then smiled again.

She looked straight at the face of the man who was her brother... a man of pure evil she cannot understand at all. She hated him and the woman who bore them. She hated her lineage. Most of all, she hated the powers that were within her. Her only source of strength were her father and paternal grandmother, both dead now. And her little brother... Corrupted.

"I'd rather die... than live another day with this cursed lineage," she said quietly.

"We cannot die." He smirked at her. "By normal means, I mean."

"Father and Grandma died."

"They were weak!" He growled, his face contorting. "They couldn't house a demon in them! They were imbeciles! Weak! Weak! Useless! They were better off dead!" His breathing was heavy, then he sighed again, trying to keep his cool, his voice changing, soothing. "But you are not like them." He smiled at her with tenderness that chilled her to the core.

"You're insane... I will not hesitate to k-kill myself. Stay away from me." Her voice shook again, breaking at some point. The dizziness was still there and her knees felt like they've turned fluid.

He raised an eyebrow. "Another ruse, my dear?" He looked amused. "Come now. Let's go back to the mansion and talk calmly. There's no need for theatrics. Mother is waiting for us."

The moon continued to cast a light upon them. The strong waves below were crashing against the side of the cliff. The cold wind continued to play with her long, black hair. At that very moment, her mind was filled with memories of her beloved father and sweet grandmother. Tears started to fall from her icy-blue eyes, staining a pale, beautiful face. When she tasted her tears, she suddenly felt a surge of power, strength, and warmth within her.

"Brother.. I choose death. I'll take these demons to my grave and this cursed line will die with me."

She smiled triumphantly when she saw that her brother's composure completely broke as she jumped off the cliff and welcomed the death that awaited her.
