My Heritage

The blue and white stripes, and the blue stars
Is something I should be proud of

The agriculture and the hard work is in my blood
But I never get to experience it
Because education keeps me to it's chains

I may never experience real hard work
But I get to help
With the clanging of the pots
The sizzling of the food
The seasoning of spices
The laughter of our stories
The jokes we host
It's all there

One day I'll be in the land
The land of rich coffee and agriculture
The land of crystal turquoise water, pristine beaches and beautiful shimmering sunsets, pink and orange,
The land of green tropical jungles,  vast breathtaking mountains, the challenging rivers that race between lands, and the fascinating  detailed ancient ruins.

The land where people try to be happy and just enjoy life
Never let the negativity devour them like a fish swimming away from a shark
Hope is the strongest thing here
Because we all believe everything will get better
Even if we must take risk
And if we are raised as the diamond in the rough

We respect one another
We don't cross the line where disrespect lies and waits for it's next victim
But we do break the barricade of Impossibility and get to the other side to meet creativity and dreams
Where people learn how to
Accept and care for people's safety

Most of the old elders of Honduras still work like Bee's making honey
Even if it's a hard task
They want to support their families
They want the best for them
Other elders create the magic
Of story telling
They spark kids imagination
Like a Firework
They want the kids to be themselves but also understand they are only human and they will  make mistakes.
They should listen to the feedback
Society provides them
Only good
Because the innocence their possess is precious and pure.
Something that causes their curiosity and wonder to start like gears.

The music that we listen to
It floats in the air
Heaven to our ears
Even if we are having stress
It's what makes us laugh and calm down
Everyone steps side to side and other make their partners twirl and spin like a seed
Spinning to the ground
And gracefully like a skater on ice
I may not know how to dance complicated dances
But I'm okay at it.
My favorite thing to do is dance to Bachata with a  family member
and
just dance for the fun
It's not competition
It's to enjoy
Everyone's laughs and cheers make me feel happy and accepted

This is who I am and I'm proud to call myself a Hondureño even if I'm not born there. It's a part of my Identity
and I can
never
get rid of it

☆~Author's Note~☆:
So it's been Hispanic Heritage month and I just wanted to express my Heritage of being Hondurean. Even if I've never been there, this heritage is a part of who I am. I want to be proud of it from everything that's going like a certain President who's bashing on my Heritage and calling me bad and such. It's time to shine. September 15 was Independence Day of Honduras but It's still Hispanic Heritage month and I haven't done nothing about it. So here's something I did as a tribute for it. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed it!
