As I'm walking past different stores in the mall, my friend Emmie grabs my hair and starts jumping up and down rapidly.
"Lex, look!"
"What is wrong with you? Are you on some crack?" I ask her somewhat jokingly
"No, look 5 Seconds of Summer is right there!" Emmie points to the left towards the music store.
"Uhm... who?" I ask, I've never heard of them before. I knew she was gonna freak out, she always does when I have no clue about something she is excited about.
"Are you serious? Lex, I talk about them all the time. We are going to their concert this Saturday!" She practically yells and slaps me in the arm.
Emmie asked me to go to a concert with her a few months back, but I could never remember whose concert it was. Maybe I should pay more attention. I said yes because I knew Emmie wanted to go, but wouldn't go if no one would go with her so of course being a good best friend I told her yes.
Before I knew it she was pulling me to where there was an giant group of girls surrounding the musical group 5 Seconds of Summer.
Emmie and I stayed until all the other girls left so Emmie could get her cd signed. As we walked up to the 4 boys, one caught my attention and apparently I caught his. It felt like we stared at each other for hours, but in reality it had only been 2 minutes.
"Hello girls, what are your names?" The one who was wearing a bandana and had curly blonde hair asked
"I'm Emmie and this is my best friend Lex." Emmie answered so fast it sounded like she didn't even breath between words
"Well, Emmie, Lex, do you girls have tickets to our show on Saturday." The boy I had caught eyes with asked after we finally broke contact
"Yes, we do" I answer before Emmie could
"Well here are some backstage passes. Come a few hours early and hang out before the show." The boy held his hand out to me with a cheeky smile on his face.
We said our goodbyes and they all gave us hugs, and finally the boy who caught my attention was last. He picked me up and hugged me. It was then I learned his name
"By the way, just incase you don't know. My name is Luke, Luke Hemmings" it was then my stomach errupted in butterflies
