Rugged/chapter two

As Emma's mom goes out to go to work, she slammed the door shut to the big house. Emma's in her room listening to music with her headphones on full blast. She lays on her bed with her eyes closed and her mind wanders.

Macy is in the kitchen, the section in the house that is right across the door that leads to who knows what. She's the only one alert and the adult in the house.

Emma's dad past away a few years back and the two females moved to the big house to forget their bad past. Everything they left behind just to start fresh.

As Macy was cutting an apple, she heard a loud sound that echoed through the house. it made her stop and caused her to walk around the wall to the sight of the stairs.

"Emma was that you? I know you're joking. Can you please stop, I'm getting a headache."

She turned the corner seeing no signs of Emma. No child hiding. No other human on the first floor besides Macy.

As Macy turned the corner to get back to kitchen, she eyes the door that Emma had not so long ago left open.

Right when she gave the door her unfocused attention the door slammed shut. The vibration of the door echoed through the shallow house.

'My eyes were just playing with me. My ears were just playing with me, but who says ears are playing with your mind?' That's what Macy thought.

Maybe the door moving was just an illusion of her mind being imaginative.

Her senses were too curious to ignore what she saw. So she thought about it as she sat in the living room eating her apples and watching t.v.

Something told her to go through that door and see. That maybe something or someone was hiding in there.

Her mind gave her hints in her dream. Hints that she didn't know she'd need.
