Tick, tock, tick, tock.
I struggle to keep my eyes open, I shouldn't have listened to Blaire and went to that party yesterday. All my life I've known I'm not one of those people that can party all night and still look like a decent person the next, but I guess its too late to be sorry now.
My eyes drift to the clock again and I see it moving slowly, like the thing knows how I feel and its mocking me. Ten more minutes and its over, ten more minutes and I can sprint like a crazy person until I arrive at my dorm and sleep until tomorrow, I don't give a shit that its noon.
Nine minutes to go...
¨So class, I've being meaning to tell you we are going to have a new student joins us for a while. He is a foreign student from England and since he is not sure of his major yet, he is going to be in some random classes until he decides.¨ Mr. Rush says rapidly, I guess I'm not the only one trying to get out of here fast. I don't pay attention to the next couple of sentences coming out of his mouth since I'm not a people person and most likely will ignore the kid like I do everyone else in this class.
Four minutes to go...
¨.. he was suppose to come today, I don't know what happened¨ Mr. Rush is still babbling about the new kid and I start to gather my things quietly so I don't appear too eager to leave his class, I don't care what he thinks of me but since he is the responsible of putting grades in my papers and I kinda need good ones to pass, I have to at least pretend to care.
3, 2, 1... And the alarm that indicates I'm free finally rings like angels telling me to get the fuck out of there. And so I do, I practically jump from my seat and get to the door first; only to collide with what feels to be a brick wall. I fall to the ground and hear the snickers of my classmates, had it being anyone else I would be completely mortified but since I'm the clumsiest person I know, this little incident doesn't come as a surprise to me or anyone else.
I start to gather the few things that seemed to have escape my backpack with the fall and suddenly there is a hand in front of my face. Too close for my taste, I look up and see that the brick wall is a guy probably 6"1 and he looks cute. Hmm not a normal thought in my brain, I'm still me so I ignore his hand and stand up by myself but I'm subtly checking him out as I do so. He has sandy blonde hair and green eyes, what appears to be a week old beard that makes him look older than what he is suppose to be and his body is a little on the athletic side.
"Hey, I'm sorry it was my fault" he says, he sounds older too and has an accent.
"You can bet on that" is what comes out of my mouth and I mentally face palm myself since I don't know how to have a normal conversation with a stranger.
"Um.. Well, my name is Charlie, I'm new here" he says and scratches the back of his neck like I'm making him uncomfortable. Wait, am I ?
I suddenly realize I'm just staring at him and I do what appears to be the most normal thing for me at the time.
I ran past him and sprint to my dorm like I was planning in the first place.
Well, I did say what was normal for me.
