She was sitting in the corner of the coffee shop, her nose in a book. Her fingers moved with ease with each page turn, softly brushing up against her dark hair. It looked almost like a chocolate fountain, cascading gently over her shoulders. And her eyes, pale green orbs that never seemed to lift from the pages of her book. Only to move when the barista called her name. Slowly, she moved ever so slowly. Like she took each second as a breath.
Inhale, take it in.
Exhale, a new moment.
It was beautiful. She was beautiful. And I think, I think I would like to know this girl.
Another day, another cup of coffee. She was there again, in her corner, another book in her small hands. I bet they're as soft as silk, her hands.
I stand from my seat and anxiously make my way to her.
"May I?" I gesture towards the empty seat across from her.
Her eyes blink up from behind the book, the slightest crinkle of a smile showing. She nods slightly.
She is the most interesting person I have ever spoken to. It is so nice listening to her talk, the sounds pouring out of her mouth as smooth as honey. She has a new puppy, she likes rain puddles, her favorite smell is a campfire. I hang onto every word. Her pink lips glimmer, in a way, as she speaks. And I can't help but to watch them move. And I think, I think I would like to kiss those lips.
Days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months. I have never been happier.
We are sitting out on her back porch as the sun is going down. As it ducks behind the tree tops and the stars begin to show, she tugs my arm and pulls me to the ground. We lay on our backs staring up at the deep velvety sky, sprinkled with little twinkling diamonds. She smiles and points out different star constellations. I look over to her, her eyes are as bright as the stars. I take her hand in mine, running my fingers across the lines in her palm. She tilts her head towards me and smiles. And I think, I think I'm falling for her.
It is cool and shady under the tree where we are sitting. She is reading her newest book to me. Her head resting in my lap and I am getting lost in her voice. Every word sounds new and exciting. She sits up a little and tucks her bookmark in the page. She turns to me, but I pull her into my arms before she can say anything. I hold her waist and let my fingers tangle in her chocolaty hair. My eyes lock with her pale green eyes. I gently kiss her soft, pink lips. And it is everything I could have imagined.
And I know, I know that I have fallen.
