The kingdom meliodas destroyed or annihilated was the KINGDOM of DANAFOR. The reason he destroyed the kingdom of DANAFOR was the one he loved died mysteriously there. Since the one he loved died he got lost in his wrath and destroyed the KINGDOM OF DANAFOR in to a black void.
