Hello, I should probably start of by introducing myself. I am 22, I'm half Asian and half white. My name is Angel. I have two parents, grandma, and four sisters and two brother in laws. But I will you about them later.
We were born and raised in Washington State.
My parents and grandma came to America about 27 years ago. From age 1-5, my home was in the ghettos. I saw things no little kid should ever see.We were a very close family. My other grandma and uncles lived right across from us. It was like three steps away. Every weekend the adults would get together and have a party. Play cards, drink, cuss and laugh really loud! Haha
Like I said we were a very close family. My uncles would take us girls to the movies, go mini golfing. It was so fun! But after first grade my parents knew we had to move to have a better life.
We moved into a really nice neighborhood. Lots of kids to hang out with. Out of all my sister I was the quiet shy one. So wherever they went I went along. I was struggling with really bad asthma.
I remembered not being able to go outside as much. I was always sick, couldn't breath right. Was always under a machine that helped my breath. I remember one night I was sleeping with my grandma that I was struggling breathing. She ran and called my dad. I will always remember that night clearly.
He carried my downstairs in his arm crying. He sat me down on his lap and put the mask over my face to help me breath. We sat there for hours. I cried and cried until I knocked out. It was a very painful night for all of us.
Kids at school would make fun of me because I had asthma. They way I talked. I struggle with speech. I didn't speak till I was 6-7 years old. I had two learn two languages at once. It was hard but eventually I controlled my asthma and slowly it faded away. Thank god!
