The final chapter of The Game Is On and part 2 of Forgotten. This chapter may be shorter than the rest of the chapters in the book, but it might be a bit longer as I want to give you guys a decent final chapter.

Thank you for reading The Game is On, for leaving your comments, and for voting.

This chapter doesn't have a prompt. It's an idea that I had while writing the first part of Forgotten. I hope you enjoy this last insight into John and Sherlock's life from my mind.

I love you guys, and please, stay safe. If you're struggling, seek help. Thanks again, guys. Onto the story!

P.S. I know Sherlock is Rosie's god-father, but she calls him Uncle Cherry. It's a nickname from when Rosie was a child that I made up. Rosie couldn't pronounce Sherlock so she called him Cherry. It stuck and everyone refers to Sherlock as Uncle Cherry.

John was scared. Sherlock could tell by the way his shoulders tensed with every passing minute and how each breath he took got increasingly unstable. Sherlock desperately wanted to comfort his boyfriend, but knew that it was no use. John was stubborn and didn't take no for an answer, but he was also a scared veteran that needed safe places for him to unwind. Waiting for Mary to react to the news they had just unloaded on her.

Sherlock was uneasy. John knew from the way he fiddled with his hands as he waited for Mary to give a response. The silence had begun to get to the both of them. "I'm not surprised." She gently brushed the hair off of sleeping Rosie's face. They both looked up at the peaceful woman. "What? I'm not. Everyone has been waiting for you two to get together for years now. I'm glad you finally decided to take that risk, John." He knew his face showed shock, apprehension, and pain.

John was hurt by her words. "Aren't you mad that I cheated on you? Because that's what I did. I cheated." Sherlock was tempted to grab his hand to calm him down, but he didn't. Mary simply smiled. "I'm not, John. I'm happy for you. You and Sherlock belong together. Anyone can see that. Even Rosie's seen it." Both John and Mary looked down at their sleeping daughter. "What are we going to do about Rosie?"

Sherlock had an idea. John knew it because the minute the words had left his mouth, Sherlock perked up. "We could split the time with her. But Rosie's twelve now. She should have a say in what happens, too. Shall we wake her?" He didn't wait for a reply before reaching over and lightly shaking Rosie's shoulder. Her eyes fluttered and she groaned, turning her face further into Mary's skirt.

"Rosie? It's Uncle Cherry." A smile lit up his face when he said that. "I need to talk to you about something important. Can you wake up, please?" Rosie groaned again, but begrudgingly sat up and rubbed her eyes. Upon realizing who had spoken to her, she grinned and threw herself at Sherlock. "Uncle Cherry!" Mary and John watched the two embrace in a tight hug. "Hi, sugar bug. Are you awake now?" She nodded and sat on Sherlock's lap.

"Dad, you're here, too?" Rosie reached around and hugged John around his neck, then returned her hands around Sherlock's neck. "Sweetheart, we - Mum, Sherlock and I - need to talk to you about something." When she nodded, John continued. "Mum and I are not together anymore. I'm with Sherlock now." Rosie smiled and hugged Sherlock tighter. "Thank you, Uncle Cherry. Mummy and Daddy aren't happy anymore. Thank you for making Daddy happy again," she whispered in his ear.

Understanding passed over Sherlock's face as Rosie whispered in his ear. John wanted desperately to know what Rosie had told Sherlock, but held his tongue. "Mum and I won't be living together anymore, and we were wondering if you would like to live with us on Baker Street?" John waited for Mary to say her piece. "I got a job, love. It's in America. I can't take you with me, so Daddy and I agreed that you would stay here with him and Uncle Cherry. We wanted to ask you if that was okay."
