Chapter 2
*Nolan's POV*
"Is it true?" Ian Desmond looked at me as I walked into the clubhouse. I raised an eyebrow and took one of my ear buds out of my ear.
"What?" I gulped, placing my bags down. Ian walked over along with Charlie Blackmon and I just stared at them. "What are you two talking about?" I laughed softly, digging through the pocket of my sweatpants taking out my keys, placing them in my bag.
"Did you not hear about it?" Charlie gulped and I just stared at him.
"About what?" I laughed, ripping off my sweatshirt, my shirt coming off with it.
"Apparently, Ryne Sandberg's daughter who was the GM for the Cubs is joining the Rockies and today, is her first day!" Charlie smirked and Ian nodded.
"And I heard, she's a sight for sore eyes!" Ian smirked and Charlie nodded.
"Okay?" I laughed softly, pulling on my practice shirt. "Is that it?" I sighed, and they just stared at me like I had 5 heads. "What?" I laughed lightly, pulling off my sweatpants throwing them in my bag. "Sorry that I'm here for baseball not to bang our new GM!" I hissed, grabbing my pants from my locker, pulling them on.
"Someone's in a bad mood!" Ian laughed in a baby's voice and I rolled my eyes, buttoning my pants.
"I just want to win this year!" I sighed, zippering my fly.
"Good thing because our new GM doesn't take no for an answer!" Bud walked in as I pulled my hat onto my head. "Ms. Georgia Sandberg, daughter of Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg, is one hell of a young lady! Granted, she's 25 and she looks like she could still be in high school, she's one of the smartest and most determine women I've ever met!" Bud sighed, crossing his arms and I nodded my head.
"That's something I'd care about!" I smirked, looking over at Ian and Charlie. "Not how big her ass is!" I hissed, grabbing my bag as their faces' turned red as Bud laughed.
"She's also easy on the eyes!" Bud smiled, nodding his head.
"But how smart is she when it comes to baseball?" I hissed, walking out to the dugout. I placed my stuff down and looked out at the field. I heard a small laugh come from center field and I looked out to see a young woman walking along side Richard Monfort, one of our owners.
She was gorgeous. She had this smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was contagious. I knew who she was right away, she was Georgia Sandberg. She was a legend in the baseball world. Georgia is the daughter of one of the best baseball players from Chicago, Mr. Ryne Sandberg. Georgia herself made history as the MLB's first female GM making her debut last season as the GM for the Chicago Cubs leading them out of their 108 year World Series-less drought. I should feel honored to be playing under her supervision but something was making me unhappy.
It was the fact that with her as the GM, I could never have her.
