I stood at the airport waiting for my bag to come around on the baggage carousel and minutes turned to hours. I got off the plane at precisely 2:43am and it was currently 4:08am. I had asked the workers multiple times for help but they kept telling me to wait. I've never had this problem before, this company was really going downhill.
"wait, you basically lost my bag?" I heard a loud, husky voice practically yell, waking me up from my some form of nap. I looked around, alert, for the source of the voice and was met with a tall, dark-haired man, no further than a few metres away from me. He wore a black cap and his face mask pulled down, a plain, short sleeved black shirt which accentuated his muscular arms and ripped black jeans to show off his perfect legs. I stared at him as he tapped his feet impatiently while checking his watch in his crossed arms. He must have noticed me staring and looked over at me. I noticed his expression soften but then immediately go back to a harsh frown. I quickly shifted my focus to my feet and pulled up my phone to avoid the awkward tension.
Shit. It was dead.
I continued to pretend using my phone anyway whilst I leaned my back against the counter until I felt a presence loom beside me. My eyes widened and my heart rate quickened, thankfully my expression was covered by my hair draping in front of my face. I continued to stare at my phone until
"Excuse me?"
I had no idea my heart could beat faster than it already was. Why was I so nervous? I shot my head up and looked up at him whilst faking a calm yet confused expression.
"Is it ok if I could borrow your phone to call my friend? Mine is dead." He asked politely however I could still see a hint of impatience and rage in his body language.
"Oh... um... my phone is dead too..." I responded quickly, my voice fading quieter by the end of my sentence.
"I see..." he responded awkwardly before he continued "but weren't you just using-" I cut him off
"It's dead" I quickly shot back. He raised his eyebrows and turned around next to me to also lean his back against the counter. I felt somewhat uncomfortable seeing as a complete stranger is just stood by me and won't leave.
"Excuse me, miss?" I turned around to see the voice belonging to one of the workers I had complained to. I frowned slightly, when I noticed how hesitant her voice was. "We are unable to locate your bag and it could be at least a week before we do. The same for you, sir" I stared at her, my jaw hanging in shock.
