I run like my life depends on it through the forest. Technically speaking it sort of does but I don't care about the technicalities at this moment in time.

I jump over a tree root and keep running until I hit a large oak tree blocking my path. I listen closely for Dimitri's men but I don't hear any footfalls. Not wanting to make any mistakes I stay running in the same direction for about an hour.

I couldn't seem to stop, not that I want to stop. I loved running it made me feel like I was free. My lungs however hated running and were begging me to sit the fuck down.

I lean against a tree and sink to my knees. All I feel like doing is sleeping. I haven't slept in two days and it's killing me. That's thanks to the assholes running after me who were amazing trackers.I close my eyes briefly and just sit by the tree.

I know at this point the only thing that's keeping me going is adrenaline and if I run out of that I'm fucked.

I open them again not wanting to fall asleep and look down at my wrist. There's a brand on it of a dagger with a seal on the middle. The seal is circular with an x in the centre and a smaller circle in the middle of that.

This was a mark that I belonged to Dimitri.

I silently laugh to myself. According to the rules of his coven I was owned by him. Jesus vampires were so controlling, he actually thought he owned me. That's why I ran away. I couldn't stand the way he used me and my powers for murder and fear.

I get sidetracked and can only think of food. I want popcorn right now or maybe peanut butter or peanut butter popcorn. Someone needs to make that.

My stomach growls in agreement. I wrap my arms around my torso to stop the noise. I need to be quiet if I wanted to stay out of trouble and away from Dimitri's goons who were after me.

I hear light footsteps on the ground and my entire body tenses. There's two of them and I can see them standing in front of me through my blonde hair.

"Show yourself." One of them shouts.

I keep my head down trying to think of a way to escape.

"I said show yourself." He shouts louder. Short temper and angry emotions radiate off of him. That narrows it down for me to about twenty different species.

I shakily get up off of the ground and look up. I can hear him gasp and stare at me slack-jawed.

I inwardly groan. I can feel the lust and wanting come off of their bodies like an odourless stink.

It's because of how I look. I don't mean to be narcissistic but I literally have the face of an angel. I have light blue eyes and long light blonde hair that ends just beneath my ribs. I guess it's one of the perks of being nephilim. Yeah half angel half human. That's lil' old me.

Though there aren't a lot of benefits, my looks do help out occasionally when I'm in a tight spot. Like right now. I bring my eyes to them clutch the tree I was leaning against with my right hand.

The one who spoke is tanned, muscly with dark blue eyes and jet black hair. The boy beside him is the exact same except he's about a year younger.

I step towards them trying to look as innocent as I can. Maybe I can have shelter tonight.

"Please you have to help me these-these men were after me. You can't let them get me." I almost scream.

I think I play the damsel in distress quite well.

I practically throw myself into the older ones arms and clutch him. It's all an act to make sure he doesn't suspect me as an enemy.

Not that I am but people aren't exactly that friendly to nephilim.
