And all of the steps that led me to you. And all of the hell I had to walk through.

All of the the different steps and phases of love you went through and that I went through finally led us to each other. I had to live through a lot of hell to make it this far in life.

  But I wouldn't trade a day for the chance to say. My love, I'm in love with you. 

Every day of my crazy supernatural filled life. I wouldn't trade any of it if it meant that I had ever met you. If I would never be able to say I love you. 

And I know. The scariest part is letting go. Cause love is a ghost you can't control. I promise you the truth can't hurt us now. So let the words slip out of your mouth. 

But there were complications in our romance. Like the fact that Stefan still loved Elena. I know he will never stop loving her not fully at least. She was his first true love. I still love my first love Tyler Lockwood but I've moved on and accepted that he loves Caroline. I'm not sure if Stefan has moved on from Elena. So I confronted him one day. 

"Stefan do you still love Elena?" 

"Of course I still love her." He tells me honestly. He wasn't prepared for my next question. 

"Are you still in love with her?" 

"I..um..No. Of course not. I'm in love with you." He tells me finally recovering from the shock of my question and deciding on an answer.

 "See there's the problem. I think you still are." 

"I'm not. I know that."  

"I can prove once and for all if you still love Elena. Will you let me?"  

"Do it." He says.

"Rebekah, please come here." I call. 

"I heard your dilemma. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to compel Stefan to tell the truth to my question then I'll ask if he is still in love with Elena. Sound good?" She says when she enters.

I know that we're both afraid. We both made the same mistakes. an open heart is an open wound to you. 

"I'm ready." Stefan says. 

"I'm glad. Now look at me. When I ask you a question you will answer the truth with no hesitation. No matter what the question is. Stefan are you still in love with Elena?" She asks him. 

"Yes I'm still in love with Elena," He says as my heart drops. "But I'm in love with Y/n too." He finishes. 

"Well that's a problem then isn't it. My work here is done. Tata. Good luck with that." She says. 

"Are you going to break up with me?" He asks. 

"I'm not sure yet Stef. I need some time." I tell him. 

"Right of course." He replies. I turned to Bonnie and Elena for help. After all they are my best friends. I tell them the situation. We make a plan. Bonnie is going to create a hallucination for Stefan where both Elena and I are in a situation where we are about to die. He will only have time to save one of us so we'll see who he chooses. 

And in the wind of a heavy choice. Love has a quiet voice. Still your mind, now I'm yours to choose. 

Bonnie calls Stefan saying how there's an urgent situation and she needs his help. Elena and I are in circles. Which I'm presuming will be rings of fire. Elena wishes me good luck. Stefan arrives running in. He gasps when he sees the situation Elena and I are in. I wonder what it is. I'm completely calm knowing Bonnie is simulating everything including what I say and my facial reactions. 

"I can only save one of you." Stefan says to us. He stands there looking back and forth between us before starting to walk towards Elena.

  And I know the scariest part is letting go. Let my love be the light that guides you home. 

I sigh feeling disappointed. He stops and turns around running toward me entering my circle. He looks confused when the simulation disappears and I'm standing there hugging him.

"Everything's okay Stef. I am completely and utterly in love with you." I say when he opens his mouth to ask what happened. 

"I am completely, utterly and irrevocably in love with you Y/n. And it is a miracle that you love me back." He answers. Elena lets out a little aww. 

"I completely just ruined the moment didn't I?" She asks when we both turn to look at her. 

"Yes." We respond in unison.
