The next morning there was a meeting being held on moving forward with plans on invading any suspecting whereabouts that Hydra could be plotting. I held off on wearing my suit to the meeting, though I really wanted to. I walked out of my room and waited for Bucky to finish getting ready so we could head over there together.
"Have you eaten?," Bucky asked me once he was ready.
"Nah, but we can eat afterwards, right," I started heading for the meeting room when he stopped me.
"Here, I don't want you to get embarrassed if your stomach starts rumbling," he tossed me an apple.
I smiled at him. "You know me so well."
He smiled back.

We were seated in the room, waiting on the rest of the team to show up. Steve was here first so he struck up a conversation with Buck and myself.
"I heard we might have to go undercover but I also heard that this won't be a good meeting," Steve nodded to me.
"What do you mean?," I asked.
Before he could answer Wanda and Pietro came in. Pietro gave me a smile, I was still wearing the necklace he gave me last night, my cheeks turned warm at the thought of the kiss we almost had.
Vision, Tony and Natasha walked in, Tony was wearing sunglasses to avoid the sunlight.
"How aren't you hungover?," he hissed at me.
I shrugged with a grin.
I was about to ask Steve again on what he meant about the meeting being bad but Fury spoke up quickly as he came into the room.
"I'll make this as painless as possible," he pulled up some plans.
"Doubt it," Tony poked.
Fury looked at him for a second before continuing. "We have reason to believe that there is an operation taking place where we battled before, in South America." He pulled up the photos to show us people moving around carts and trucks coming and going. "Seems as though our efforts to stop them once has only grown since then."
"How long has this been going on?," I was angry that they let this go on for so long.
"Months but we've sent in men to spy on them. So far nothing to report," Fury continued. "We will be sending in a team and hopefully we can learn more about what they're planning."
It sounded like an easy enough plan.
"Captain, Romanoff, and the twins will take this one. You leave first thing tonight."
We were dismissed but I was angry.
"I'm not going?," I pulled Fury aside to talk to him.
"Not at the moment, no."
I scoffed. "I know that place better than they do and I know how to get people to talk."
"Which is why we need you to go talk to your friends and see if they know anything about Hydra's upcoming plans. We also have a few other people we want you to look in on."
"That's it?"
He nodded before walking off.

"It's not fair! I should be going!," I was talking to Bucky about this in his room. I was pacing back and forth while he listened.
"I thought so too but it doesn't sound like there will be much to miss," he shrugged.
I took a seat. "I don't want to see Garret or Jackie. Not after what they did."
He nodded. "Maybe you can use this time to spend it with your father. Hasn't he been wanting to teach you about your abilities?"
My dad! He wasn't at the meeting, I hope he's ok. "Thanks for the talk, Buck." I flashed him a quick smile before taking off.

"Dad?," I knocked on his door.
"Come in," he called out.
I walked in, he was lounging on a chair inside his room with a book in his hand.
"Are you ok?," He asked.
I waved him away. "Yeah but you weren't at the meeting today. Are you ok?"
He nodded. "I am not a part of your team, dear. I am here to help you. It was nice enough that your friend in the nice suit let me stay here, I did not want to impose on your work."
My dad, what a guy. "Thanks, I guess."
"What's wrong?," He walked over to me and led me to the couch.
"I feel like they're holding me back, ya know. They're gonna have me interrogate a few people instead of fighting."
He nodded. "Maybe it's for the best."
I eyed him. "You're just saying that because you're scared that I'll get hurt."
He laughed lightly. "Yes, it's true. But it's also the truth that maybe it would be best if you stay behind. If they really needed your capabilities then they would seek your help."
When he puts it that way I guess I overreacted but I can't ignore that feeling in my gut that's saying otherwise.
"With this time I can teach you more about my past and your abilities," he smiled at that.
I nodded. "Can't wait."
