Currently we were all training and me and Erica had a plan to beat Derek. She had jumped in him and kissed him, but Derek being Derek pushed her off.

"Does anyone wanna try not being completely predictable?" Derek asked. "Where's..."

Before he could finish I had attacked him and pinned him down on the floor. "Hey Der Bear." I taunted, smirking.

"That's the last time you do that." Derek sighed, dusting himself off.

"Why?" I asked, smirking. "Because I'm a beta?"

"Are we done?" Isaac asked. "I got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal."

"Come here." Derek said grumpily. "A hundred and one. You think I'm teaching you how to fight? Huh? Look at me! I'm teaching you how to survive!"

"If they wanted us dead why aren't they coming for us now?" Erica asked. "What are they waiting for?"

"I don't know. But they're planning something. And you, especially, know that's not our only problem. Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac's father," Derek said. "I think it killed someone else last night. Until I find out what it is, you all need to learn everything that I know. As fast as I can teach you."

Derek and I were inside the school pool building, questioning Stiles about why he had saw earlier on. Apparently the creature had turned up at a garage earlier in and killed the guy that works there.

"All right, the thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark. Kind of patterned. Uh, I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Okay, because I've somebody I really need to talk to -" Stiles rambled, obviously on about the red head who was sitting in the parking lot bawling her eyes out.

Derek let out a growl and Stiles eyes widened as he continued talking.

"All right, fine, eyes. Eyes are, um, yellowish. And slitted. Um, has a lot of teeth. Oh. And it's got a tail, too. Are we good?" Stiles voice had now become drowned out as I saw the crest tire standing right behind him. "What? Wait, have you seen it? You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I am talking about."

"Run!" I yelled as I turned around and began to run the edge the school pool, Stiles and Derek follwing behind.

"Derek, your neck!" I quickly turned around to see Derek had been scratched, paralysing him from the neck down. "Hey, come on."

Stiles wrapped his arm around Derek to help him and bean to pull him to the edge of the pool on the other side. "Where is it? Can you see it?" Stiles called out in panic.

"I can smell it Please hurry. Call Scott!" Derek groaned.

"Stiles, ah -"

I looked over to Stiles had thrown Derek into the pool, also dropping his phone. I jumped in the pool immediately help Derek, however stupid Stiles jumped in the pool and left his phone on the edge.

I swam down into the water and wrapped my arms around Derek's torso, pulling him up so he didn't drown.

"Where did it go?" Stiles gasped as he spat out some water, his eyes scanning for the kanima. "Do you see it?"
