Daniel sat in his hospital bed, staring blankly at the beige colored wall in front of him. He sighed, laying down and pulling the blankets over his head.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "Come in," Daniel mumbled, expecting a doctor or nurse to step into the room. Instead, someone very familiar stepped inside. "Hey there Daniel!" David said, smiling warmly at him.
David's arms were behind his back, him smiling at Daniel.
Daniel sat back up, smiling slightly. "Hey David."
"I brought you something," David said, grinning. "Ta-da!" he said, pulling out a bouquet of Forget-Me-Nots.
Daniel gasped, looking at David. "You bought these...for me.?"
David nodded, smiling happily.
Daniel looked from David to the flowers and back to David. "Thank you.." he said, getting the flowers from David's hands.
Daniel looked at them for a moment before setting them on a table by his bed. He turned back to David, a tiny smile on his face. "Don't mention it! That's what friends do for other friends!" David chirped happily.
"So..What brings you here David?" Daniel said, curious as to why David would even come here considering what he did to the camp.
"Oh, I just wanted to visit my friend in the hospital!"
"Oh. Thank you..for visiting me.." Daniel said, smiling at him.
"It was no trouble!" David replied with a dismissive wave of his hand.
Daniel suddenly felt David reach over and gently grab his hand. He looked over, saying, "What are you doing?"
"I'm letting you know you have a friend during all this. And if you ever want to talk about anything, I'm here," David replied, smiling.
Daniel smiled at him. Suddenly a doctor came in. "Visiting hours are almost over."
David stood, taking his hands away from Daniel's. "Thank you! Bye Daniel!" he said, waving.
"Bye David!" Daniel said, smiling and waving.
It took Daniel a moment after David left to realize that he had slipped something into his hand. He looked down at his hand, seeing a peice of paper.
On the paper, there was a phone number with tiny little doodles of trees around it. The words 'Call me' were written underneath it in a green pen. Daniel smiled to himself. He picked up his phone, sending a text to the number.
