I parted ways with my friends and headed up the street. Once I had reached the red doors I texted my grandmother and told her I was here. She didn't reply so I walked in and saw her.
"I'm here" I smiled at her and she told me to sit down in the waiting room. I sat down and looked around, there were colourful chairs and white coffee tables. After a few minutes, I went to the toilet and sent a snap chat of me dancing in the mirror to a group chat of friends. It didn't send, how annoying and awkward if someone else was with me. I went to sit back down and I walked behind my grandmother who was looking for me. She turned around and looked at me with a flapjack and coke zero in her hands. She handed them to me and I sat down.
A few people came in and out while I snapchated my friend. Nothing really interested me so I played on my phone. Man, I'm bored.
That was until someone came in, he went to my school and, he didn't look too good. I mean he was pretty good looking but not at that moment.
I watched as he stumbled in and walked to the middle of the room, he stumbled around for a minute then fell right in the middle of the room. I instantly ran over to him. He had a bruised eye that was coloured with all sorts of blue, red and purple. He had sweat pouring down his cheeks and a busted lip. My eyes lowered to his stomach, it was bleeding.
I shouted for help and put pressure on his wound. Dear lord, he's only 15 how on earth did this happen. I heard someone calling an ambulance and my grandmother ran over.
"The ambulance will only be here in 40 minutes" my grandmother told me.
"We have to get him to a hospital" I stared at her.
She shouted for someone and a man came out, he lifted the boy and we ran over to my grandmother's car. She got in the front and I sat in the back seat with him laying over my lap as I stopped the bleeding.
He looked at me and smiled "Hey, sorry about your car"
"Shut up and don't die," I told him. I don't really know him that well since we aren't in a lot of classes together but I know his name, from what I've seen he's pretty nice and a funny guy, so how the hell did this happen?
"Are you okay? Are you crying?" He asked gripping my hands.
"Am I okay? You're the one bleeding out in the back of my grandmother's car. And yes I am it's not like I want you to die" I smiled and looked up. We're here. Finally.
A stretcher came out and they put him on it. "Kole, don't die or I'll have to kill you"
I walked in behind him and a nurse came to help me clean the blood off my hands. I told my grandmother to go but she only left after a protest. I waited to be told something for an hour or two until a doctor came out.
"Anyone for Kole Kani?" I stood up and was led to a room down the hall.
They took me to his recovery room and the nurse told me I needed to find out the number of his parents and call them, after that she left. I opened the door slowly and peeked my head inside, it was a room with only one bed and a few chairs, everything was a dull white colour, the whole room just screamed sadness. He noticed me and gave me a soft smile, then put his head back and gripped his stomach. I walked faster over to him, sitting next to his bed and he turned to face me.
"Erin, do you now your parents number?" I asked pulling out my phone. His eyes widened and he pushed my phone down, looking at me with desperate eyes.
"please dont call my parents"
"why?" my sharp tone of voice threw him off, i didnt want to make him uncomfortable so i just brushed it off. "Okay then, what happened to you?"
"i fell on glass?" he said very convincingly (can you sense the sarcasm?) "a tree came alive and thwacked me" even more unlikely story. I gave him the 'you better tell me now' look, he sighed giving up and looked away "Fine. I got on the bus and got home as usual but today the bus was later than expected. You see, my dad is very short tempered" My heart sank " I was supposed to help him with some stuff and he...." he stopped.
