Doctor Cameron van Cleer stood extremely focused in the middle of his apartment. He assembled a lab that shared the same quadrants as his place of rest. He dwelled in the midst of clutter and creation as he prepared to test his newest formula. He was a scientist who obtained a passion for smaller lifeforms, more notably, moths. As a kid, he developed a special bond with moths and really felt that people did not appreciate them. He related this to how he felt his role was in society. Though at the time he was only a boy, he knew he was destined for greater things.
His heart was broken when he learned that moths only had a lifespan of a matter of months. He was very loyal to his winged friends and made them a promise. He made it his life's mission to figure out how to expand their timeline, so that they could be together.
He hovered over the table and stared at his recently deceased friend. A small white moth laid peacefully on a cloth platform. He held a syringe in his hand that he felt contained the key to his life's mission. All I have to do is inject you with this and you will be back flying around the apartment in no time.
He leaned down to inject the moth and realized he needed to move his magnifying glass in a little closer. As he went to scoot it over, he tripped over the clutter on the floor and fell onto the table. The table collapsed and together they fell onto the apartment floor. The fall was softened by the scattering of dirty laundry, but that was the only positive part. He had accidently injected himself with the syringe!
He cried as he saw the dead moth on the floor, accompanied by an empty syringe. He looked at where he had jabbed it into his own arm by mistake. His arm began throbbing and his chest started to tighten. He cringed in pain as he felt the formula flow through his veins.
