He dragged his feet through the mud, letting it stick to his boots. His hands were deep in his pockets and his head was down, allowing his bangs to completely cover his eyes. He ducked below drooping tree branches and pushed aside annoying branches that stuck out to block his path. The sun above beat down on him, causing his skin to flush red.
"I hate the summer." he muttered to himself, fighting his way to his destination, demolishing annoying mosquitoes and plants along the way. "I hate the summer."
He continued until he reached his destination, a sigh of relief escaping his lips. A small smile touched the corners of his mouth before he threw himself to an old, abandoned mattress. Unfortunately, it was placed directly under the sun. He immediately put a hand to his face to block the relentless rays and sighed once again. But this time, it was more of a sigh of exasperation.
"I hate the summer..."he repeated again, shutting his eyes. He lay there, in a pool of heat, hot and tired. Kim Taehyung hated summers and he knew he would NEVER enjoy them.
Letting out another sigh, this time of annoyance, he rolled onto his side and silently prayed for the sun to set. Of course it wouldn't because it was mid-afternoon, but a guy could dream.
"Where are they?"
Never had they felt so hot until now. The group of young men slowly dragged their feet as they walked down the mud path, all exhausted and decorated with beads of sweat.
"Aish...Why can't we just do these types of things during spring?" Min Yoongi complained from the very back. Park Jimin, who walked beside him, nodded vigorously in agreement. The other three, Kim Namjoon, Jung Hoseok, and Jeon Jungkook, looked back at the slowest in the group. Jungkook opened his mouth to speak, but Namjoon beat him to the answer.
"Because some of us are still in school, hyung. that includes you." Yoongi simply rolled his eyes and let out a loud, tired yawn.
"I'm tired." he announced, swiping at mosquitoes.
"Tell us something new..." Namjoon muttered under his breath. Hoseok and Jungkook found this amusing because they knew he would never have the courage to say it to his face.
"I'm tired too." Jimin grumbled, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Why is it take longer than usually to get there?"
"Maybe the heat is messing with you, hyung." Jungkook responded. He pointed up ahead. "We're almost there."
'There' was their secret hideout. It was a place deep in the woods that seemed to be abandoned. They were pretty sure no one knew it existed, so it became their meet-up place. Here, they could enjoy themselves without any interruptions.
Much to the relief of Yoongi and Jimin, they arrived there in no time.
"Is that...Tae?" Hoseok asked in a low voice gesturing towards a body on a mattress. A very old, worn-out mattress. Hoseok looked at the sight as if it were the craziest thing he had ever seen. He even took a few steps back, as if the mattress could infect him from so far away. Namjoon, being the more mature of the two, approached sleeping Taehyung.
"Taehyungie." Namjoon said, shaking his shoulder a bit. "Taehyungie." Taehyung's eyes opened a bit and he squinted them in confusion. "Hi."
"Hyung? What are you doing here?" he muttered, still half asleep. He looked around at the others who were surrounding him. "Wha??"
"What am I doing?" Namjoon smiled, his deep dimples appearing. "What are you doing? Trying to get a tan?" Namjoon reached a hand out and helped Taehyung to his feet. Jimin was the first to rush Taehyung with a hug and was quickly followed by the rest. Everyone joined in until the six of them was in a giant group hug.
