Hope Johnson is a regular 16 year old girl. But she isn't living a very good life. She's by herself at home because her dad's in jail and her mom left when Hope was little. Then, at school hope is bullied constantly. She's called names and physically hurt. But the physical pain doesn't compare to her emotional scars. She is self conscious and lacks self confidence because of all the things she's called. Her few friends are there for her but in the end is that enough to keep Hope going?.
Luke Hemmings is pretty popular. He plays sports and is in a band that is well known around school. It's also a bonus that he's very attractive.
