The Phoenix Wolf and The Spirit Wolf

Chapter 2, The Signal.

One casual night, Jeremiah was just roaming around in the Peridot Forest shadows, but he realized something, Kaylee wasn't anywhere. He immediately knew something wasn't right because, Kaylee is always in Peridot Forest every night. Jeremiah searched through the forest to find her, but after about an hour of looking he remembered that Kaylee and him had a secret signal; if either of them got lost or were in danger then one of them would do the secret signal, they both had different signals; Jeremiah howled, and Kaylee glowed very brightly. 

So, Jeremiah trotted onto a small ledge in the moonlight and drew his head back and let out a loud, long, howl and waited for Kaylee to signal back. Directly in the middle of Peridot Forest, Jeremiah saw a faint, yet bright, fiery glow, and so he ran as fast as he could towards the glistening light. When Jeremiah finally got there he saw his best friend chained to the biggest tree in the entire forest!

Jeremiah was shocked and confused, normally Kaylee could break almost anything! She was the strongest creature in the entire region and the chain that had her captured, she could easily destroy, but by the scared look on Kaylee's face, Jeremiah could tell that something was definitely wrong. Jeremiah knew nearly everything about Kaylee, he knew her every ability, her deepest secret, and even her soul.

The chain that held her captive were The Chains of Discipline, which meant Kaylee broke a law; she crossed the Forbidden Border and got caught by a Prophecy guard. Jeremiah shape shifted into human form and whispered, "What did you do?"

Kaylee, who was also in human form the whole time, said quietly with her head tilted down ashamed of what she did, "I crossed the Forbidden Border." Jeremiah shape shifted back into spirit wolf form and quickly broke the Discipline Lock with his sharp, strong, teeth, and led her away from the area, he realized that Kaylee was still in human form and told her, "Why don't you shape shift back into phoenix wolf form and just fly, you know where we're going, right?"

She nodded and said, "My Power Crystal is broken." then she pulled her golden Power necklace out of her pocket and then held in her other hand, her Power Crystal, which was cracked. Kaylee said worriedly, "Can you fix it?"

Jeremiah answered anxiously, "I'm not sure, but I can try." He shifted into human form and examined Kaylee's Power Crystal and her necklace and spoke, "I'm pretty sure I can fix it, don't worry," then Kaylee nodded graciously.
