; a shot of espresso with steamed half and half, a.k.a. light cream.
—————he waited for her that night, with two train ticket for adult to Daegu. he was about to take her to his hometown. as the last person went out from the café, he blocked her.
"excuse me, but, has haeun gone home?" asked taehyung.
"yes she has. around six. she got a call that has her rush back home," the co-worker replied.
"alright, thank you," he said and then rushed to the bus stop.
running soon as he stepped out from the bus, he caught some breath before pressed the bell button.
there was no answer, but a door being clicked. she was going to open the door herself.
taehyung clears his throat and hid the ticket. as the door opened, he plestered a smile. either did haeun, but a faint smile.
"why, what happened to you?" taehyung asked, cupping her face but then she removed them.
"haeun-ah, who is it?" a deep male voice came from behing haeun.
a young decent tall good looking man approached. he made taehyung formed a frown.
"nothing jaehwan-ssi, i'll go outside for a talk for a minute," haeun replied and stepped out the house.
"let's talk somewhere," she was the one who pulles him this time. and the vibe wasn't good. she took him to the park taehyung showed her.
it was still dark, with only one street lamp shined for them.
"who was he?" taehyung asked, in deep serious tone. it was the second time for haeun to hear it. after him asking her to date.
"he—," haeun hestitated. she looked at taehyung and took a deep breath.
"i was arranged married to him," she finally spoke up. she didn't dare to look at him. scared that she would tear up, as she was holding it that time.
"what? look at me and say it once more, is it a truth or a lie? listen haeun-ah, you are not good at lying. i knew it. even when you rejected me. i knee that it was a lie and —," he stopped when haeun finally looked up at him.
right into his eyes and, "yes i am getting married and i can't stop it. and even if you knew it was a lie, what can we do now. my parents are the one who arranged it. i am devoted to my family that i can't refuse to do it as i hate it so much!" she exclaimed and quivered. tears dropped down to her cheeks.
taehyung took off his coat, putting it on her.
"it was getting closer to winter, why did you go out with thin cloth?" taehyung said.
"we can't meet up freely like this now, taehyung-ah," haeun said, wiping her tears.
please say that you will still look for me, haeun thought.
"is that what you pick?" he asked.
"what?"
"that you pick the marriage over me. although i know you lied earlier, like you said, you still don't have any certain feelings for me,"
"taehyung-ah,"
"haeun-ah?" jaehwan came in time.
he completely ruined their time.
"i've been searching for you everywhere. let's go, it is getting dark," jaehwan said, taking haeun by the shoulder, "have you guys done by the way?"
just clenched his fist. not willing to see that.
please, don't let him, taehyung-ah
"uhm, yes. we, we are over now. you can go now," taehyung replied, forcing the muscle in his face to make a smile.
actually we haven't, taehyung thought.
i hate you, kim taehyung, haeun thought.
both of them left. leaving taehyung, feeling miserable. he kicked the peebles that he found on the ground, cried as much as he can.
"i can't even hug her for the last time. not even holding her hands, feeling the warmth of her," taehyung cried.
then he thought of chasing them. taking haeun back to his arms.
he did run. but it was too late. they'd completely gone. going to her house would cause a scene.
"she must have hated me right now," he said in his cries.
he had lost her. he had lost his sugar, for his bitter life. he had lost his happiness.
