~~~~~Chapter Four~~~~~
Jamie stood in front of an art easel, one he found in the attic and tapped his fingers on the top. He had his eyes closed, trying to ease his pounding brain. The tugging on his mind has gotten worse since their meetings with the strange group of people this morning.
Jamie's eyebrows scrunched together and he felt a sweat break loose as he tried to push back onto his mental steel wall. He had a feeling whoever was trying to see his thoughts was one of the people he saw earlier.
Jamie's mind flew and his a tingle ran down his neck. His hand raised subconsciously and the paint brush softly rested on the white canvas as his mind pushed into another visions. His eyes flew open but he was staring into space with a dazed expression. The brush barely brushed the canvas as his vision played out.
Minutes later, he squeezed his eyes shut and blinked them open to see a painted picture of someone with dark black hair and sparkling red eyes sanding close, too close, to his mother. Jamie sighed in defeat and sat down his paint and exited the office. He walked around aimlessly, he got bored easily.
He stopped in his tracks when he reached the living room, his mind sensed someone coming towards their house. The person was to fast to be Jacob and even faster than his mom. He blocked his thoughts with extra support as he felt someone trying to push through his wall.
The doorbell rang. He looked at the large brown door. His mom told him never to open the door when she or Jacob wasn't home but he was curious to meet the odd presence. Jamie walked to the door and tugged it open. Jamie stared up at the man with spiky hair from his vision.
"Hello." The man said with a soft voice. He was hoping to meet Bella at the door, not some kid. "Is Bella here?"
Jamie's eyes narrowed at the man and with one swift, quick motion, he slammed to door shut; the odd man didn't have time to stop him. Jamie's hands flew as he bolted the door. He had a feeling that the bolts wouldn't hold the guy but if he was what Jamie sensed he was: he couldn't enter the house.
Jamie ignored the man's calls as he shuffled to the home phone. After punching in Jacob's cell phone number, he waited for it to connect.
"Hello?" Jacob's amused voice, someone must of made him laugh, came through the line.
"Jacob, can you put my mother on?" Jamie rushed.
Jamie could tell the phone was being passed as he heard bits of laughter and muffled voices. The man in front of the door had stopped shouting and was currently standing there; trying to break through Jamie's mental wall.
"Hey Jamie, what's wrong?" Bella said with a worried tone.
"Mom," Jamie glanced back at the door. "There's a guy here asking for you. He's really strange. I think he's the one trying to get in my head."
Bella sat Nick down, who just ran to Jacob. Jacob knew Nick was his and that Jamie's was Edward's, so he didn't mind taking care of him. Bella's face flashed with realization. "Okay, Jamie, don't open the door. We're on are way." Jacob looked up at Bella. Jamie said goodbye and hung up the phone. "Jacob."
Jacob nodded and said something to Nick. Nick sighed and went off to Seth, who would be in charge of taking Nick home with the group. Jake gathered all of the pack and explained to them that after twenty five years of peaceful, leech free Forks, they were back. The pack grumbled and growled and took off towards Bella's home. Jake walked over to his bike and got on, along with Bella.
Jake swerved around the dirt corner of her house just as the werewolves jumped through the woods and raced behind them.
Edward stood beside Carsile, speaking softly as his brain worked to get into the kid's mind, Alice was also trying extra hard on the kid's thoughts. He had called his family here when he heard the familiar angry howls of werewolves. Esme's head snapped up as the roar of an engine flew towards them, followed by the pack wolves. Emmett moved toward the edge of the patio and stared at the upcoming group.
Jamie to had heard the commotion and moved toward the window, peeking out, only to meet a guy with blonde hair staring back. Jamie felt his excitement die down and he stared confused at the now smirking blonde. Some how the guy took away his emotion.
Jasper turned away from the boy and looked back to the group.
Jacob skid to a stop and kicked his kickstand down, jumping off, he turned back to help Bella before morphing into werewolf form. An angry Jacob stalked towards the vampires with his mates close behind. Bella stood back with a solemn expression as Seth, in wolf form, stopped and handed Nick off.
"What are you doing here." Sam barked, his teeth showing.
Edward stepped forward, unfazed. "We came back." His eyes drifted off towards Bella.
The door behind them creaked open and Jamie stepped through the group, giving them looks before running to his mother.
"It's been twenty five years, leech." Jacob shot back. Edward stared back. "We've been perfectly fine without you."
Edward sighed and looked down. He knew coming back would be hard.
