ECHO (Ghostbusters fanfic)

The message

It's been weeks later, we all tried to move on from the tragic death of our friend, we even hired a new ghostbuster to take Holtzmann's place,it wasn't the same without Holtzmann though. But one day I got a strange message from Holtz, "that's impossible though, she's dead" I thought to myself as I read the text message, the letters were distorted and it read; "Į'Ⓜ︎  ŠＴＩＬＬ  🅰Ｌℹ︎ＶＥ, ＧHØŠＴＧℹ︎®️l".Like I said the text was distorted but I figured it out, Holtzmann was still alive. When I showed it to Abby and Patty they both assumed it was just a prank text from someone just to mess with us. After failing at convincing my friends that Holtz was still alive, I tried talking to the new ghostbuster, her name is Jenny and she is kinda crazy just like Holtzmann was. "Hmm, seems like she is trying to communicate to us through the other dimension." Jenny said. "Wait, so you believe that Holtzmann is still alive, but in a different dimension?" I asked her and she responded by putting on her blue goggles and answered; "That is exactly what I'm saying Er"(that's her nickname for me, she has nicknames for everything, just like Holtzmann did), "trust me I've studied this shit ever since I knew what ghosts were and I know for a fact that you will not die immediately if you are a human in the ghost world." I was relieved to hear that. "So Holtzmann is still alive?" I asked. She looked up from her studies, "Unless a hostile ghost killed her, I think she'll be fine. However being in the ghost world for this long could have some major changes on her physical appearance". I was pretty confused by this, "What do you mean by that?". "Remember when Abs (her nickname for Abby) and you went through the ghost portal for a few seconds and it turned your hair white? Kinda like that except Holtzmann was stuck in there for five weeks which could make her look very weird" Jenny explained. At this point I didn't care what Holtzmann would look like when she escaped the portal, all I want is for her to be here.
