Hello. My name is Penélope (pronounced "Pen/ El / Oh/ Pee, not Penel/ Ope just so we're all clear.) Andrea Lincoln and I'm the biggest idiot in the world. I sighed as I picked up my gym bag and headed to my car, a small whimper and a soft bark coming from inside my bag.

"God dammit, Ruffle. How many times do I have to tell you that you can't get into my bag when I have school?" I groaned as I began to open the door.

"MISS LINCOLN!" I heard from across the parking lot.

I gave an inward groan and turned to see Ms. Dennis, a.k.a the worst person at my school ever, hence the reason shes not married.

"Yes, ma'am?" I called out. At this point, she was making her way across the lot and we were getting an audience.

"I hate to tell you but just because you're West View's little star, that does not mean that you can leave school whenever you would like."

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I just have a situation I have to take care of, I'll be right back." I said as my bag shuffled.

"Yeah, right, that's what my husband said to me three years ago before he left and never came back, Penélope. What is in your bag?" she eyed me suspiciously.

"Um, my dog, ma'am." I unzipped the rest of my bag so she could see and Ruffle's little golden head popped out from my bag. I swear I saw Dennis's eyes soften.

"Okay, fine, go take it but you better be back for your first hour in twenty minutes or I'm calling your father." She said, eyeing me up.

"Yes, ma'am, thank you, ma'am." I quickly hopped into my car before she could change her mind and started my car, putting Ruffle in the passenger seat.

I began my short drive home and Ruffle calmed himself, laying his head down and taking a quick snooze before having to deal with my three year old siblings until the had to go to day care. Out of nowhere, a skateboard skid in front of my car and shortly after, a human being. I stomped on the breaks and Ruffle went flying into the dashboard.

"God fucking dammit," I threw my car into park and reached over to my whimpering puppy, coddling him and holding him close, "Ruffle I'm so sorry, my baby, my poor baby, some people are just fucking idiots."

I climbed out of my car to see who had flown past me and cradled Ruffle in my arms, only to find Ryder King.

"YOU FUCKING IDIOT, WHY THE HELL DO YOU RIDE A FUCKING SKATEBOARD IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW YOU JERK?!" I screamed at him.

"Yo, chill the hell out, you're not a very good driver, bitch. You almost ran me over." He snarled at me.

"YOU ALMOST KILLED MY BABY." I stroked the side of Ruffle's head.

"Whatever. Psycho." He put his skateboard down and began his way down the sidewalk. What an asshat. I put Ruffle back into his passenger seat after promising to get him something safer for car rides and started back on my way home. And really, if the whole beginning of this doesn't describe my life enough for you, I'm not sure what will.

My name is Penélope Andrea Lincoln, 17 years old, senior captain of the cheer squad, girls' basketball team, swim team and dance, and welcome to my life and how one person changed it completely.
