Nervous?
Your heart beats faster, your fingers strum across the desk, a distant tap tap tap as you close your eyes to stop the room from spinning. Your muscles feel tight, your mouth is dry. Stop. Think. Feel.
Can you feel? The hot, the cold, the pain. Your skin is prickling. Your hair is standing on edge. Nerve yourself. Take a breath.Nervous?
Maybe this is an ending. Something you hadn't thought of. The end or final chapter- the final part. The furthest from the start. An ending.Breathe. Are you still nervous?
Beneath your skin is a whole roadmap of things that make you feel, a million different endings that send a trillion different signals to your brain to process. Sluggish. You're feeling sluggish. A shell of empty shattered nerves, a skeleton that's lost it's skin. This is testing your nerves.Nerves. Fibres and impulses, from muscles and organs and skin. What allows you to feel pain and hot and cold? Nerves.
Maybe this is an ending.
Brace yourself, nerve yourself.
An ending.
Nerve endings.
