Joe's Bar was even more intricate on the inside, knowing Jane; it wasn't a surprise the bar was famous for its loud music, and wide array of alcohol. The first floor, was a large blue lit room, the dance floor, had a disco ball of colors swirling at the bottom, and I could spot Jane's hair right in the very middle, she was laughing with a drink in her hand and dancing with hot guys encircling her, all of the men showing the same awestruck eyes. Jane was the teenage Madonna. I couldn't help but smile. Jane was everything I was not, as far as confidence went. Sure as far as studies went, I knew everything AP, but Jane -- she could dance in heels larger than life... I could barely walk.
God Jane did you have to make me wear these shoes?
I wobbled along to the bar in black heels, and took an empty seat trying to let my long legs relax.
"Hi, welcome to Joe's bar cutie, would you like something to drink?"
The sudden noise, made me jump in surprise, a young waiter stood before me cowering over the table that separated us a little too close so i replied before even thinking. "Sure!" Shit shit shit! What did you just say! Claire you don't drink! You loose it with one Margarita!
"Okay what would you like today?"
I looked up to the towering menu, Bloody Mary... What the fuck is that?
"I'll have your um... Red Mary... I mean Bloody Mary.." The waiter looked at me with speculation
"Can I see some I.D"
A sinking feeling rose in my chest. Bad luck was wherever I was, karma was coming at me full speed.
"Of course, here you go" I smiled. Think Claire! What would Jane do. I grinned at the thought and Janes voice popped in my head; You look SEXY Claire! That's what Jane would do; flirt. I smiled at the waiter, showing a set of straight white teeth, that 4 years of braces had paid off for, and looked up with dark green eyes through my thick black lashes. The waiter winked in reply, barely noticing the I.D. facing him
"One Bloody Mary coming up"
I could have done a happy dance, right there, but a tall drink was popped in front of me, it was red, and smelled a lot like too much alcohol for me too handle. But the waiter looked at me with raised eyebrows, so I took the straw and drank. OH MY -- SHIT. This tastes horrible! What the hell! But I smiled and drank some more. After half the large cup was empty, a buzzing feeling started appearing in my head, my throat burned, and the sensation of disgusting slowly replaced it self with a sweet taste. It seemed the more I drank, the better it tasted.
"Would you like another one miss?"
"Yes please" what are you doing!
My conscience crept up on me, scolding me for the amount of bad choices I was making in the span of an hour. But I pushed it aside. I was already at the damn bar, and if Jane could have a great time, then I could do! IT'S the ALCOHOL talking Claire DO NOT TAKE THE STRAW--
"Oh shut up"
The waiter looked at me with surprise "what?"
My eyes turned big and I laughed "Oh nothinggg, just get me something yummy!"
He chuckled in response murmuring lightweight as he walked away.I turned around as a slow song erupted through the blaring speakers, the large room felt smaller, and it seemed the room had gotten packed in the hour we were here. I checked the time on my watch, I could barely make out 12. Time seemed to have gone by so fast since my first drink. Now a few bottles were aligned near me. All I could remember was shooing off random guys time to time. And laughing. God why was I laughing?
All of a sudden it seemed the heavy air, turned even heavier. Every girls head turned to the door. What are they looking at? Is everything this dramatic when you're drunk?
Everything seemed like it was doubled, voices moved slower, I tried focusing my eyes on the subject of attention half the room was giving. That's when I saw him.
I got up from the stool, managing to walk closer to the figure. Why was I walking closer? Oh god. He fit those descriptions you saw on magazines; of tall dark and handsome, only maybe this guy was a little better than even that. His eyes were a line of grey and blue, that even my drunken self could see easily. He had more of a dressier shirt on, and you could easily make out the amazing body underneath, his hair, lashes, brows, they were all a thick black, except his hair was a little lighter then the rest, it was a messy dark brown, the type of hair that looked great when you ran your fingers through them. The guy was huge and he cowered over other men. It seemed in a matter of seconds every girl was enticing in the same things I was noticing. He walked, not paying attention to any of the women and men swooning around him and straight into wait -- me"Are you okay?"
Claire! You're staring.. Still staring... SAY SOMETHING IDIOT!
"Me? Oh yeah no, I'm fine, great actually!"
He laughed, his voice was so deep so... sexy. SNAP OUT OF IT CLAIRE! These guys are the guys we AVOID remember! The ones that make us watch twilight and gain pounds while we cry over Chocolate Ice cream after they get into our panties and leave!
"I'm sorry I should leave now" I laughed, wondering why the hell I was laughing. Nothing was funny about this situation.
"You look a little unstable, are you sure you're okay? I really think you should maybe--"
"No -- I'm --"
I tried my best walking away then boom. All I remember was a slow motion slip of the heel and before I knew it, the arms I had practically drooled over, were clutched around my waist--- oh my god he's carrying you Claire! This poor man, who just wanted to get a fucking drink is now carrying you!
But the buzz in my head got louder till the point where I felt like taking a long hard nap, the room started slowly fading away, and all I could feel were the strong hands placed perfectly below my bottom.
