A/n: Hi! So this is the first story I've posted on Wattpad. It's unedited so don't judge. I don't even know if anyone will read this but if you do enjoy!

I woke up with a groan, propping myself up on my elbows to rub the sleep out of my eyes.
Letting out a sigh, I threw my sheets off of me and headed to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. Examining my face in the mirror, I stretched the skin beneath my eyes and rolled my eyes in agitation, dark circles.
Once I finished washing my face, I brushed up my face with gentle makeup, not enough to cover up the spray of freckles across my cheekbones. I tied my long auburn hair into an elaborate side braid, leaving two strands of my fringe down just before putting on my black rimmed glasses, the lens slightly obstructing my green eyes.
As I looked in the full view mirror I ruffled my pleated skirt and straightened my white long sleeved shirt, it was a little too big for me, but I thought it looked cute. Cute, that's what I was trying to achieve, it's not like I actually liked to wear skirts or dresses. It's not like I actually liked to wear makeup and extravagant hairstyles. It was just to get him to notice.
But what was the point, although my eyes always followed him, I was practically non-existent in his.
I let out a huff, blowing a strand of auburn hair away from my face. Slipping on my shoes and throwing my bag over my shoulder, I quickly shoved my front door open, slowly walking to the bus stop.
My parents always used to shelter me. They thought public schools were way too dangerous for a girl like me to attend, so their solution was to not expose me to such things and send me to a private school. I grew timid as a result, too used to the sheltered life my parents provided.
Letting out a prolonged breath, I arrived at my bus stop, kicking gravel at the bus stopped directly in front of me.
Since I lived so far away from my school I had to take a public bus to get to my destination. My parents were opposed to it at first, saying the public bus was too dangerous, but since they were too busy to drop me off at school, they had to oblige.
Stepping into the bus, I took the seat closest to the driver, placing my bag on the seat next to me before I gave all my attention to the window beside me, getting absorbed to a new world.
But this time I lose my focus prematurely and my attention goes to an advertisement plastered on the wall of the bus.
A World Time of Fun! It read, Come to the Spring Carnival! As my eyes traveled down the poster, more was written in a cursive font, There will be a fireworks show at the end!
"Fireworks..." I said to myself, what if I could bring him with me as a date?
The bus came to a sudden stop, throwing me off my seat due to force. Somewhat embarrassed, I picked myself off the ground and realized that we've reached my school, Auburn Hills High School.
Grabbing my bag from my seat, I ran out the bus and to the front doors of the school, where he was next to, Archer, his bronzed skin shining rather prominently in the sun.
Usually he would be conversing with a friend, but this time she was talking to him, Merrin.
As I approached them, I see Merrin's face dim, taking two steps away from Archer before facing me, "Hey Eleanor," she said rather flatly.
"Hey El," Archer waves his hand two times as Merrin flinched at how he called me El.
"Hey..." I ran my hands down my loose braid a couple of times before I met both of their gazes, "I see you guys were talking."
"More like arguing," Archer let out a couple of chuckles as Merrin blew a strand of her ash brown hair away from her face.
"You two make a good couple," My voice was laced with mock enthusiasm.
Merrin seemed caught off guard for a couple of second before tilting the corner of her mouth into a smile, "As if."
I gave them a faint smile before pushing open the big doors of our school, turning around to give them a simple wave as the doors closed behind me.
I knew they were both lying. They both liked each other, they were just too afraid to say it.
It was like we were in the middle of some generic romance, and I was the second lead.
