Prologue

"Hindi ka ba talaga sisiputin ng boyfriend mo?" Tanong ng lalaking naka bonet saakin habang shinishake ang cellphone ko.

Napalunok ako. "I told you. He's not my boyfriend."

Nakagapos ako sa isang upuan dito sa warehouse. Hindi ko alam na 'yong mga nangyayari pala sa mga action movies about sa ganito ay nangyayari sa totoong buhay.

This kidnapper's tattoo on the wrist is so familiar. Alam ko na agad kung ano siya, isa siya sa mga galamay ni Steve. 

Maybe I could lie with some people that he is my boyfriend but with this kidnapper, I guess it's more than fine to finally admit that, that man will be never be mine.

Mamamatay na lang din naman ako rito bakit hindi ko pa i-admit ang katotohanan?

He's too much for me, he's too high to reach. I tried the hardest just for us to be on the same level...but it still the same, nothing changes...he still can't like me.

That proves that we cannot say that knowing someone for years makes them fall for you. That's not it. As long as he still loves someone, he can't fall for me.

But at least being here to protect him could prove how much I am into him. I am kidnapped because of him yet I am not regretting anything, I am happy that I'm finally showing that I can protect him, na hindi lang ako puro salita, na totoo lahat ng sinasabi ko.

"Oh? Iyak ka?" Nang aasar na tanong ng lalaki saakin. "Bakit? Kasi di ka ililigtas ng boyfriend mo rito?"

Sinamaan ko ng tingin ang lalaki habang may tumutulo pa ring luha sa mga mata ko. "He's not my boyfriend. He'll never like me, whatever I do."

Hindi ko alam kung bakit ako nakikipag usap sa kidnapper na 'to. Bakit ba hindi na lang nila ako tuluyan? Tutal sawa na rin naman ako sa buhay ko.

I already reached all of my goals since then. The only thing still can't get is his attention, his heart, his love.

He's still stuck in the dark of his past, and here I am...following him there.
