**Wonderland**

"We're finally back. Not that I didn't enjoy visiting your world dear, I did but it is very normal there, still beautiful but it can't compare to Underland and..." Hatter twisted his fingers while rambling nervously.

"Hatter!" Alice just smiled and placed her hands on his shoulders, he smiled back sheepishly.

"Thank you.. I'm fine." Hatter managed to squeak out, "But no where is home without you my Alice, you are my Wonderland."

"And you're mine too." They leaned in for a kiss which at first was sweet and gentle then grew more passionate.

"We should go see the queen and tell her about the trip." Alice pulled away slowly, "There will be time for this later and maybe more."

"Naughty Alice!" Hatter teased and took her hand, making their way to Marmoreal.

**Marmoreal**

Mirana sat calmly on her throne then looked up when the big double doors to the room opened. She smiled when she saw the Champion and Hatter come back, both looking happy.

"Welcome back, how was the trip?" Mirana gracefully walked towards them, every step she took was like she was floating on water.

"Fine thank you Mirana." Alice nodded to the queen then yawned, tired from the long day.

"I assume you'd both like to rest, you need it. Everyone must regain their strength to prepare for training tomorrow. Knowing Iracebeth, I fear she might want to fight sooner than later." Mirana sighed then politely waved them off.

They quietly walked through the halls of the castle, awkard silence filling the air though they didn't know why until one of them broke the silence.

"Alice.." Hatter said softly and stopped in his tracks, gently grabbing her hand to get her attention.

"Yes dear?" Alice could hear the concern in his voice, she knew without a doubt what it was about.

"I'm concerned about this... I mean I'm honored to lead the revolution and finally defeat the bloody big head but her army sounds much better than it used to be and I'm afraid if we lose, she'll be in control again which will be bad for everyone and I don't want to see you or anyone hurt..." Hatter rambled on with uncertainty, his eyes turning a shade of yellow and blue.

Alice quickly held his face in her hands, a moment passed before his eyes turned back to the calm green, they stood there for a second until she responded back.

"Hatter, love, I promise, we defeated her once, we will again. There's no need to be worried, everyone will be safe and happy once it's all over." Alice said, so sure and  encouragingly, "Besides, you helped me find my muchness which let me defeat the jabberwocky."

"Your right dear, I'm sorry, I just don't want to loose anyone.. like I did on.." Hatter suddenly froze, staring into space then gently shook his head, "Sorry.."

"Don't apologize, I know how that day brings back a lot of memories but I'm here to help you, no matter what." Alice said softly then they pulled away, continuing to walk.

Hatter and Alice turned the corner when a chess piece guard ran up to them, he looked tired and was panting.

"Sir Hightopp, the queen has requested to see you, it is an emergency. She said to let the champion rest. I must get back to the search." The guard ran off again.

"You should go see what's wrong, I'll be fine." Alice said to Hatter who was unsure, he didn't want to leave her alone, anything could happen while the enemy was on the loose.

"But.. what if your in danger or something happens in the castle.." Hatter stuttered but Alice gave him a quick kiss and chuckled.

"Darling, I'll be fine." Alice reassured him, "I know how to use a sword and am capable of protecting myself. Now go, I'll see you later."

They both left in opposite directions, Alice finally got to her room and closed the door. It was a tiring day so she laid on the soft bed, giving in to the weariness and fell asleep.

**Scene Change**

"You wanted to see me Mirana?" Hatter entered the queen's study and saw her pacing back and forth which was unusual.

"Hmm? Oh, yes, hello Tarrant. Please sit." Mirana sat on her chair behind the desk and gestured him to sit in the one across from it.

Once he sat down, the queen folded her hands and looked a little uncomfortable, whatever she had to say was probably something she didn't want to.

"Tarrant, there's word that Iracebeth and her army just left the Outlands. They're probably waiting to attack but they could be anywhere right now. I want to ask if you could lead a search to find them." Mirana waited for his answer.

"Your Majesty, I'd be honored to lead a search but are you sure your alright with this?" Hatter asked, still worried about the nervous looking queen.

"I fear this will be risky to send people out and I wouldn't forgive myself if anyone got hurt..or worse.." Mirana sighed then stood up.

"Your Majesty, it is alright. I'd gladly lead the search and I'll make sure everyone is safe while we're out." Tarrant took off his hat and bowed.

"Thank you Tarrant. The search will be tomorrow and.." Mirana was cut off by something in the hall. They both ran out and heard what it was.

It was a scream.

**Scene Change**

Alice woke up after a little while and stretched, the sun wasn't up yet so she probably wasn't asleep long.

"What to do.." Alice talked to herself then thought about the battle, nervous about what was to come.

She opened the doors to the balcony and walked out, watching the stars shine in the night sky. Everything was calm and quiet, even the trees were swaying in the wind which made it more relaxing.

The door opened, not making a sound and a dark figure walked in. Alice heard the footsteps as they got closer and she quickly turned around.

Before she could see who it was or what was happening, a hand clasped over her mouth, she struggled but the person was too strong. She managed to bite the hand and heard a groan of pain, their grasp loosened slightly.

"Help!" Alice yelled at the top of her lungs then the mysterious person grabbed her again, this time she felt something sharp like a needle injected to her side.

She screamed again then the thing (probably a sedative) started to take effect on her and she felt drowsy, falling to the ground and everything went black.

**Scene Change**

Hatter and Mirana started running as fast as they could in the direction of where they heard the scream. Whatever was going on, it wasn't good.

They stopped in front of the door to Alice's room which was partly open. Hatter opened the door all the way then gasped.

The bed was a mess, blankets spilling over the edge, the balcony doors were open letting in a slight breeze that sent a chill up their spines and items were on the ground, probably knocked down.

"What's this?" Mirana picked up a needle with a vial that had some mysterious liquid inside.

Hatter didn't listen or turn his head, suddenly he started moving things aside violently, looking in the closet, searching out on the balcony and around the room, he fell to his knees in the middle of it all, eyes a deep orange, close to red.

Alice was gone.
