September 9, 1879. Diary of Mr. William C. Carter
Dear Diary, on this day our company has faced a very sad, and unfortunate accident regarding our factory. We are entering a very Industrial Age, and so we are improving our machinery every day to supply our customers, and today we purchased the newest version of the largest and most efficient loom, that we could've found among this earth. We were very excited to use this machine, and we could not wait for is extraordinary moment for our factory. Me and all of the other men working for our corporate division had come to view this new machine as well as I. This is the time when everything went horribly wrong. We had started the loom up, and we were overjoyed to have such a machine for our production. All of a sudden, the loom started whirring, there was a great noise and everything went black. I woke up in the next hours, to a very bright and blinding light, I thought I was dead, I couldn't remember much. I heard a odd beeping, and a man with a white lab coat rushed over to me and exclaimed, "Golly, we thought you might've been dead!" I asked with shock, "Where am I, and what happened?" The man who I learned was a Doctor, then explained how there had been an explosion at the Factory and everyone was forced to evacuate. "We rushed in to see if anyone was hurt, and we found you unconscious. So we brought you here right away!" "Is there anything left of the factory?" I asked. He replied: " The Structure is there but everything else is destroyed. " "Well, I must leave, for I am finished."

This was the last entry of this Diary. The lot in which the factory of William Carter's Shoe industry was never occupied again.
