"Vhea, don't leave me..." Kyle pleaded.
"I'm sorry, Kyle.. This is my choice," Vhea answered, eyes full of tears, "I'm so sorry. Goodbye."
With that, she left him. They were both heart broken. He can't do anything. He knows that once she decides on something, she will go for it without a second thought. All he could do was hope... hope that she'll come back to him. But when?, he asked himself.
Present..
"What?! She'll be late? Who the hell she thinks she is? I've been waiting for almost an hour," a very angry Sky told his manager.
"I understand but she had a recent photoshoot. It can't be helped. The magazine staff requested for a few more shots," his manager replied.
"I don't get it. She's just new. Her name doesn't even ring a bell," Sky answered.
"She's in demand in other countries. I'm sure she'll be popular here anytime soon."
"I don't care. She better be here in 5 seconds or I'll..."
BANG! The door opened loudly. A young girl entered, scanning the room. She wore a very expensive dress with matching stilletos and flashy accessories. She had a long, blonde hair and dark hazel eyes.
"Oops! I'm very sorry. I'm late," she said as she approached the manager.
"No worries, dear. I'm Rei, the manager of Sky," Rei said gesturing to Sky. He wanted Sky to say something but Sky just stared at the girl.
"Uhm.. Sky?," his manager said. What's with the sudden change of mood?
The girl looked at Sky. He seems so familiar.
"You are...?" finally, Sky answered.
"Oh! I'm Heaven. Pleased to meet you. I look forward to working with you." she said with a big smile. She let out her hand but he didn't shake it.
"Hmph!" Sky shrugged, "If you really want to work with me, you should learn not to be late."
"I'm sorry about that. I'll try my best not to be late".
This is interesting, Rei thought. First, he was angry. Then, calm. Now, back to being angry.
Within 5 hours, they rehearsed for an upcoming show. They were both singers and Heaven's going to have her first debut in the country. She feels excited so she gave her effort during the practice. They sang 8 songs and practiced some dance steps that they will be performing for the show.
During break times, Heaven would catch Sky stealing glances at her. It felt awkward. Something keeps bugging her ever since she saw him that day.
When their practice was over, Sky and their manager offered to drive Heaven back to the five star hotel where she is currenlty staying. They arrived at Blanchett Hotel before 6pm.
"Hey! Why don't you guys have dinner with me here?" she asked happily.
"Sounds good." Sky replied. After all, he was hungry.
"Well, who are we to reject an offer from a beautiful lady?" was Rei's answer.
Sky rolled his eyes. "Acting so gentlemanly huh?", he whispered to Rei. They both laughed.
"I think that settles it!" Heaven said leading them to the fancy restaurant at the hotel.
While they were eating, she thought of asking Sky some personal questions.
"Sky, how old are you?"
"30."
"No kidding. Really?"
"Joke! I'm almost 18. You?"
"Wow. We're the same. Well.. I just turned 17 last month."
"Oh."
What? He doesn't look interested, she thought. Maybe he has a girlfriend... Wait! What am I thinking? I don't care if he has a GF!
Suddenly, he stood up. "Excuse me. I'll just go to the washroom".
As he walked away, Heaven became worried.
"Did I say something wrong?", she asked the manager.
"Uh... nope. Don't worry about him."
But she didn't believe him. Both of them already finished their meal when Sky came back. He looked tired.
"Let's call it a day," he said to Rei and turned to Heaven, "See you tomorrow".
He quickly walked outside. Rei and Heaven were surprised.
"That guy! He's bipolar".
"What's the matter? He looked confused..."
"Heaven, trust me. Don't worry. I'll talk to him later."
9pm, Rozen Condominium...
RING!!!
"Hello."
"Hey, Sky. That wasn't good. Leaving just like that. Heaven's worried."
"She's not worried. Why would she be worried? We just met."
"She's your partner. You know, "co-workers". You're gonna be a loveteam."
"Whatever. I'm hanging up."
"Wait, wait, wait! Remember, work is work. If something personal is bothering you, don't let it affect your career."
"Yeah. I know."
"Alright. Tomorrow. 10am. I'll pick you up."
"Yeah."
When the call ended, Sky lay down at his bed and slowly pulled out a necklace under his shirt. The pendant was a gold half heart with the letters "LO".
"Vhea," he said before closing his eyes and falling into sleep.
