The next morning...
“Wow. You’re early.” Sky told Heaven when he saw her inside the studio.
“Of course I should be early. Don’t want you to get angry, you know.” she answered, taking a sip from her cappuccino.
Sky grinned and took a seat beside her. He picked up copies of the songs that they were going to practice for today.
“It’s all lovey dovey...”
“Huh?” Heaven asked, confused about what he said.
“These songs.. don’t you think they’re so... mushy?”
Heaven started to laugh.
“What’s funny?” he asked.
“Sorry. Can’t help it. You do know that they’re going to make us a loveteam right?”
“Yeah.. so?”
“Well... that’s why these songs are like these. It’s going to help us promote our loveteam.”
So in the end, it’s all about work huh, Sky thought.
Just then, the door opened. Rei came in, looking busy as usual.
“Okay, time to start! It’s gonna be a long day...” he announced.
After an hour...
“Stop! Stop!” Marie, their vocal coach, instructed.
“What is it again?” Sky said, looking tired.
Marie gave him a disapproving look.
“Uhm.. don’t worry about him, Marie. Is there a problem?” Heaven asked.
“You two... your voices are good. There is no problem with your singing but...”
“But what?” Sky demanded.
“You lack connection.”
“What?” the two singers asked at the same time.
“Connection... It’s what makes this song alive.”
“What are you talking about?” Sky asked.
“First, you should look at each other’s eyes when singing...”
“What?! That would be so awk-“ Sky stopped when Heaven touched his face.
Her hands are soft and warm, Sky thought.
“Sky, we need to follow Marie.” she turned to Marie. “We’ll do it.”
“Make it as if you two are in love.”
Heaven immediately removed her hands from Sky’s face. Rei who was sitting on a chair behind them, chuckled.
“Alright, we’re doing it again.” Sky said.
They sang again, looking at each other’s eyes. Heaven thought that her face was hot. Looking at Sky, she realized that he really is handsome. She wished she knew what he thought at the moment. Their voices blended well.
“Good job! Let’s take a break.” Marie said, happily.
Without a word, Sky went to the restroom.
“What’s up with him?” Heaven asked.
“He’s not used to staring at girls... let alone look at a girl’s eye for that long..”
Heaven was silent for a moment.
“Hey.. you’re blushing.” Rei teased.
“What?!” she suddenly touched her cheeks.
“Just kidding.”
Sky came back. He avoided Heaven’s eyes.
“He’s back to being bipolar again.” Rei whispered to her.
“I have a plan. You two should hang around more often. Why don’t you go out together? Like a date...” Marie suggested.
“You’re joking, right?” Sky asked.
“Hey! That’s a good idea!” Rei agreed. “If they go out together, they can have that connection you're talking about... plus it’s for publicity. People would talk about you when they see you.”
“A date huh?” Sky was having second thoughts. “What do you think?” he asked Heaven.
“If that would help our career, I see no problem with it.” she replied.
“Okay.” he answered.
This can be troublesome, he told himself. You don’t know what will happen.
