'Love' is an important word for Grace. She thinks she finds the one but, actually she finds the worst. She gets trapped in her feelings, until one day, at school prom, she meets someone that can change her life. Forever.
I heard him scream my name. I was walking away from him like he walked away from me. I sensed his footsteps behind me, but I didn't stop walking. I smelt his minty breath in the air as he followed every miserable footstep I took. He grasped my arm. I pushed him away, but he gripped my arm again, tighter than last time. "I can't let you go..." he whispered, close enough so I could hear, my back still facing him. I finally turned to face him, "Leave me alone. I'm better off without you." And with that, I stormed off, leaving my footprints in the ice cold snow underneath my feet, not turning back again. This time, he didn't come after me. I deserved this. I really deserved being sorrowful. Heartbroken...

"Grace, you're going to be late!" My step-mum, Gemma, wailed from downstairs. I opened my eyes to a blurry vision. School. I lay on my right and closed my eyes again. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "I'm leaving without you if you don't wake up now!" I sat up straight in my bed. "Can't you read what it says on my door? DO NOT DISTURB!" I frowned at Elijah. "You put that sign up when you were twelve, and you told me that it doesn't count for me. I can come whenever I want." Elijah, my annoying 14-year-old brother, smirked at me. I ignored him and got out of bed. Finally, he walked out of my room, so I can change. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and I put my hair up into a messy bun. Then, I went to my walk-in closet and pulled out blue, ripped jeans and a white crop top. I put on my trainers, got my bag and stumbled downstairs.

***** At school some people were in a rush to see their friends and some people were hugging their friends tightly like they didn't see each other for 10 years. First day of school. Typical. I walked towards my 2 BFF's, Emmi and River. We were best friends since nursery and they are incredibly kind! We hugged but we didn't make a huge deal like the others. Emmi was explaining how her Summer Holiday went in France and that she had a boyfriend called Alex now. River and I weren't surprised as Emmi was the prettiest in the whole school and she had a fit body. River was talking about her boring holiday that she spent in her small room, coping with her brother, Stone, who is 14-years-old. My brother, Elijah, and River's brother, Stone, are both 2 years younger than us. Emmi is lucky; she is the only child.

After 'Period 4,' it was lunch time so River, Emmi and I met up in the lunch hall. We chatted away happily, until we heard swearing over our shoulders. We looked around in unison. Then, I spotted what was going on... "Guys, look!" I exclaimed, pointing at a group of boys surrounding two other boys that I didn't recognise. I turned back to Emmi and River and they both squinted. "That's Alex!" Emmi said, helping me to remember the mention of her new boyfriend. "And that's Athen!" I exclaimed. Athen was my boyfriend. We've been going out for 2 months. Our relationship has been good so far. River, Emmi and I stood up and rushed over to the crowd. I went in between the two boys, along with Emmi. Emmi and I pulled our boyfriends to one side to talk to them. I stood there, giving a look that said 'SPILL!' "Ok...ok...I'm telling." Athen took a deep breathe and then explained what had happened,"Alex was talking rubbish about you, saying you kiss every person you meet." "Well, why bother because I haven't even had my first kiss yet. Athen, please, stop starting chaos. Alex is a new student in this school and he is my best friend's boyfriend, and you decide to mess up his reputation. Why can't you give it a rest?!" I frowned at Athen. "Why can't I give it a rest?! Why can't you, Grace? You seem to think I'm to blame in every situation that happens with me and other people! The truth is: you feel things towards Alex!" Athen shouted at me, angrily. I gasped. "Watch what you are saying, Athen! That's not true!" "It's 100% true and I'm positive about it!" This was unlikely of Athen. Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to fight them back. "I can't believe you. I haven't known you all this time. Stay away from me!" A tear slid down my cheek. "Come on, Grace. Let's get away from here." River rubbed my shoulders comfortingly and we stormed off. Several tears slid down my cheeks this time.
Later on, at home Gemma was cooking my favourite food, fish and chips, although I wasn't hungry. Gemma was upset I argued with Athen; she liked him. I just locked myself up in my room, trying to concentrate on my GCSE's. Every five minutes I was checking my phone if I got any texts from Athen, but there was none so I decided to go down to dinner. I only ate a quarter of my plate but Gemma insisted to finish my plate, though I gave her an anxious look that made her change her mind. "Can I stay at River's tonight? I need to clear my mind. Please?" I asked. Without hesitation Gemma said yes,"I will tell your dad and I'm sure he will allow too." I nodded gratefully and went to my room to get ready. I pulled off my pyjamas and wore blue ripped jeans and a black crop top. I put my phone, charger and headphones in my bag. Also, I put my pyjamas in my bag, wore my black sneakers and in seconds I was outside and walking to River's house. I called her on the way and carried on walking until I arrived.

At River's house, I talked about all the stress when you have a boyfriend and I talked about how upset I was because of Athen. We made popcorn and watched sad romantic movies - we even cried over them! At last, we went to bed at 03:45 AM!

In the morning, I woke up at 9:30 AM and had half an hour to get ready for work. I quickly tried my best to brush my teeth with my finger and washed my face with some of River's face creams. I wore my blue ripped jeans and my black crop top from yesterday, got my bag, put my trainers on and walked downstairs to wear my coat.
When I left River's house, I went to my job at Greenway Cafe, which I was already late to. When I arrived, my boss, Athena, just asked me where I was and after I explained she let me complete my 6 hour shift. Half way between my shift, Athen opened the door to the cafe and walked in. I tried to hide myself by walking in the kitchen but it was too late because he saw me the second he walked in. Athena walked over to Athen and they spoke about something that I couldn't hear. Whilst they were talking, Athen was looking around - what, or who, was he looking for? Then he stopped looking around, and instead kept his stare at me. Suddenly, I realised that my head was fully poking out of the door that I was hiding behind. Athen gave a small laugh and waved at me. Athena turned around and when she saw me, she did a sign with her eyes to say "come" and walked off with a wide grin across her face. ---------------------------------------------- A/N : Hey, guys!
