"who?" his eyebrows raised.

"jung hoseok. he's a really great guy. such an angel~," the girl sang.

jimin chuckled. "would you stop trying to get me a boyfriend, mijin?"

mijin was jimin's childhood friend. ever since she set up a date for one of her teachers (just so she could get a good grade on a test), she thought she was the perfect matchmaker for some odd reason. she also knew jimin was gay and even though she's straight, gay people were her favorite people.

the two were at lunch in the cafeteria and mijin was stuffing her face with kimchi jjigae while talking to jimin.
"min yoongi's cool too. i think you guys would be cute together," the girl continued with a mouthful of food, so her words were quite muffled.

jimin scrunched up his nose while shaking his head.

"why don't you approve of him?"

"he's a douche," jimin replied simply before stealing a piece of rice cake from mijin's plate.

"how? i think he's pretty cool. pretty smart too."

"he's not smart! he thinks he is. he thinks he's omniscient or something."

"speak a real language please. is omniscient even a word?"

jimin chuckled. "let me translate it for you. omniscient means all knowing. so i'm basically saying he thinks he knows everything."

"but he does!"mijin pointed her chopsticks at jimin's face.

"you're living in a world of lies~!" the boy sang.

"just because you're a majestic singer doesn't mean you can persuade me into thinking he's dumb or something." the brown haired girl said before getting up and disposing of her food, bowl, and plate.

"just stop judging the guy, you know? give him a chance."

as jimin and mijin walked down the hall, jimin heard a faint gasp slip from his friend's mouth.
"what's wrong?" he asked her with a puzzled expression.

"there he is!" she whisper-shouted, pointing at a guy with an intriguing heart shaped smile talking to his friend.

"who's that?"

"that's jung hoseok! j-jimin how do i look? do i look okay?"

"uh...why do you care how you look?"

mijin paused. "n-no reason," she blushed.

"i think i know why~!"

mijin's blush grew deeper.

"you probably mentioned him to me at lunch just so you could get closer to him through me because you like him! am i correct or am i correct?"

"fine, you caught me," mijin said while covering her face.

"let's go talk to him!"

"no, jimin! what if i make a fool of myself?"

"don't worry! i have your back. now go! play it cool."

mijin walked nervously towards hoseok but slowly got more comfortable. don't mess up, don't mess up, don't mess up, she kept telling herself mentally.

she almost made it to hoseok, but failed by tripping over a trash can.

meanwhile, jimin, the person who was supposed to have his friend's back, had his own problem.

"what do you want?"

"it has nothing to do with you." he pointed a finger towards mijin. "it's all about her today."

"and why is that?"

"when you're as smart as i am, you don't need a reason."

"that makes no sense! just because you're smart doesn't give you a privilege to do anything for no reason."

however, jimin didn't receive a real response. the only response he got was laughter.
"what's so funny, yoongi hyung?"

"your friend! she's making a fool out of herself!"

jimin turned to see mijin sitting on the floor with trash all over her. he was about to run and help her but someone beat him to it.

"hey, are you okay?" he heard hoseok say. jimin immediately smiled.

mijin just stared at him in disbelief.

"uh...y-yeah. thanks," she managed to say after processing what had just happened.

"oh, and you look fine! i heard you talking to your friend. i don't have high standards or anything," hoseok smiled warmly while helping the girl up off of the floor.

"how much did you hear?!" she panicked.

"just enough." hoseok winked at her.
