Something They Feel

At first I thought it was some sort of joke, a piece of paper with the word "coming" on it and some stupid smile. I thought it was a prank, I mean it arrived just after Halloween night so I was completely unfazed by the note, Later that night though I had a strange feeling. At first it was like a buzzing but as it got closer it felt like I was numb like I had cut the circulation to my hand and it went numb but this was all over my body, like I had no circulation at all.

I saw it, that insane mask, like it was the flash of light from a flickering torch, it shined in the midnight light. I was scared but I also felt nothing, like it was just a dream that i haven't fully woken up from yet. His knife was so much bigger than any knife I had ever seen, almost like an axe. "please, get away!" I thought I shrieked but to my ears it was only a whisper. It only looked at me with cold blackness and an x where it's right eye should be.

I was lucky that my neighbor came in, she was in the middle of asking if I was ok when she saw it too. She screamed as soon as she saw it but i was so numb it felt like the end of an echo. It ran away from me as soon as it heard the scream. It was odd, I never heard a door, no window open or glass break, it was like it just disappeared.

The police came and interviewed my neighbor, she said she had the weird numb feeling too as well as her kids. It went away for them apparently, but it hasn't left me. I'm scared to leave the house but I think I'll have to see a doctor about this "numbness"

A statement from the victim of an attempted murder, later found dead with large cuts along the back and a missing arm. Police when investigating the scene reported an odd numb feeling, like the victim stated.
