"Aria clean your room, how many times to I have to tell you?"
"Why do I have to do it now? Can I do it tomorrow?"
"No you can't do it tomorrow because the Taylor's are gonna be here in a couple of hours and Liana is sleeping in your room."
That's right, the Taylor's were coming. They're old family friends of ours who live in Sacramento. My mom, brother and I live right in central LA. It's about a six hour drive.
The Taylor's were staying with us all of summer vacation but left a week early, so my brother Justin and I are stuck at school while Liana and her older brother Ryan get to chill at our house for the week. Liana is a year older than me but we are both sophomores, she's 16 and I'm 15, Ryan is junior and just turned 17. And Justin is the same age as Ryan. We haven't seen the Taylor's in a few years so the last of what I remember is that Liana and I got on pretty well and so did the boys, Liana was always pretty and super nice and Ryan was at the awkward stage of being short and having a squeaky voice.
I just finished cleaning my room and heard a knock on the door. My mom answered and hugged Lizzy and Bruce and the kids. I went downstairs and hugged them nicely except for Ryan who I just smiled at. I immediately noticed how much he'd grown, he had dark brown hair slightly shaved at the sides, like all the kids had nowadays. He had nice olive skin with big brown eyes. And Liana looked even prettier than the last time I saw her, I think Justin noticed too, she looked really similar to Ryan, anyone who couldn't tell that they were siblings would have to be blind. She had hair that went just pass her shoulders and a very pretty warming smile just like we'd be friends forever and we saw each other yesterday.
Justin and Ryan were sharing Justin's room and Liana and I were sharing my room. Bruce and Lizzy had the guest room.
Mom liked having adults around ever since dad left when I was 10. I think she spends too much time with kids. She works as a nurse in the kids ward at St Mary's hospital. My mom is definitely the strongest woman I have ever met, my dad left her for her best friend since middle school. She bounced back pretty fast to be honest and has been on a few dates with a lot of different guys. My mom is quite gorgeous for a 44 year old with two kids. She has blonde curly hair that goes just above her shoulders, she's always loved being fit so she has a mean body and compliments it with her wicked sense of style. But I'm just glad she moved on because I think my dad is a jerk for leaving an awesome beautiful woman like her. They were married for 20 years, 20 years of what my mom thought were the happiest years of both of their lives.
It was Sunday so I had to get up at 6:00am for school, I went to bed at 9:30 so I could be awake for finals all this week. I was prepared for these tests, they aren't gonna be hard I mean I was taking English, Maths, French, History and multi media.
I got to school and immediately saw Jess my best friend. She's the popular type that people get threatened by. I mean she is gorgeous with her brown hair dip-dyed blonde. She's confident and extremely flirty. She wears a lot of makeup, I'm probably the only one who's seen her without makeup. We spend a lot of time together and are always there for eachother. Because she's so flirty and pretty she's had her fair share of boyfriends, so she's been through a lot of heartbreak.
"How was your weekend?" I asked.
"Brodie and I went to the movies"
"W-w-wait" I cut her off "I thought you were with Peter?"
"No no Peter and I broke up Friday night when he checked out Cindy Johnson, ugh" she said with disgust.
"Oh so you've moved onto you're next victim?".
"I hate it when you call them that but yes and I think Brodie could be the one I mean he's funny, smart." She looked at me. "HOT!!"
We laughed. And we both knew he wasn't gonna last a week.
