Chapter 10

Spencer P.O.V

I kicked off my navy Converse, my feet seeming to blister from all the walking we’d done today. I lied collapsed on the bed groaning. Naomi, of course, was like a little fruit fly with ADD.

“So, according to this London travel site, the nearest mall is...” She paused, squinting her eyes at her iPhone. “2 miles away!” She squealed excitedly.

I rolled my eyes, “Since when have you been so interested in wasting your life at the mall? Hmm?”

She shrugged her shoulders, pulling out her massive suitcase, opening it to reveal a massive pile of what looked to me like a lace explosion. “I came prepared!” she gave me a smug look. “And it’s a good thing I did, considering the fact that you have no fashion sense, and you need to look good for Louis! Now get up Mrs. Tomlinson!”

I shot up from the bed, my stomach fluttering at the name, “Don’t be freaky ‘Mi, you know it’s not like that.”

She shot me a serious look, “You’re joking right?” Her eyes darted to my vibrating phone lying on the wooden nightstand.

“Naomi.” I glared. Our eyes met for an instant, she grabbed the phone at lightning speed, as I attempted to wrestle it out of her tight grasp.

She tilted her head to the side, mocking the Lou’s scratchy voice as she read, “You sure? I would make a great personal shopper,” she giggled, wiggling her eyebrows at me.

I snatched my phone away from her, rolling my eyes. She was acting like Louis was in love with me. She was being ridiculous. I mean sure, he’d been a little flirty, but that didn’t automatically mean he was into me... right?

“So he wants to come shopping with us?” Naomi questioned as she applied her lip gloss, leaning into the mirror.

“Well...” I began. “Apparently, they all wanted to hang out today, but I told them I promised to go shopping with you, so...” I trailed off.

She quickly cut me off, “Are you kidding?! SAY YES.” she started to nod her head excitedly. “Oh my lord. I have to do a million things now that they’re coming. We have to do our hair. And our outfits. And our makeup. And, OH MY GOD, I almost forgot...” she rushed out of the room as I texted Louis back, shaking my head, a smile on my face:

Ok, I talked ‘Mi into it ;) Can you guys meet us at the mall in like an hour?

He replied not thirty seconds later. I loved guys that were fast texters.

Yeah, sounds awesome. See you soon Xx

I got butterflies just seeing the “Xx”. Naomi stomped back into the room carrying a curling iron. “Time to curl Spencer’s hair!” she cried, cheerily.

I groaned, “Noooo, I hate my hair curly,” I slumped my shoulders back, and closed my eyes.

“That’s because you’ve never seen my amazing curling powers at work,” Naomi said, nodding at the chair in front of the mirror. “Now sit,” I sat down, and she plugged in the iron to warm up. “So what time are we meeting them?”

I picked at my chipping nail polish. “In like an hour?”

She literally screamed. “AN HOUR?! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, CHILD?! WE CANNOT BOTH BE READY IN AN HOUR! OH MY LORD. No curled hair for you!” She shrieked, tearing the plug out of the wall.

I silently prayed a thank you to my lucky stars, Naomi was like a weapon of mass destruction with the curling iron. She was frantically running around the room, trying to straighten her hair and curl her eyelashes at the same time. I sat flipping through the channels, thinking about the first night I sat here, Liam Payne chomping on gummy worms next to me. These past few days were like a sappy dream, I reunited with my best friend who I hadn’t seen in person for four years, One Direction was going shopping with us, and the boy I’d been idolizing since I was 13 apparently had a crush on me. My cheeks were burning at the thought of Lou, it was just so unreal. The way he’d blushed whenever I walked into the room, how he’d played with my hair as I sat on his legs; there was something about him that felt so real, so genuine. I looked up from my daydream to see an impatient looking Naomi, “Are we going or not?” she asked, re-doing her already perfect hair in the mirror for the zillionith time. She stood there for a moment examining herself. She was wearing a pair of high-waisted shorts and a sheer white tank top, paired with some cute beaded sandals.
