Chapter 15

No more doubting

Baekhyun was one second away from hitting the man on his face. But because he was caught red-handed he could only scowl at the CEO who was sporting an annoying smirk on his handsome face. The illustrator hastily put his phone in his pocket, clearing his throat to fill in the awkward silence in his part. He unlatched himself from the man, oblivious of how red tinted his cheeks that time. Chanyeol, amused, reached out to caress his face, tracing his cheeks down to his chin before lifting his face up.

"So? What's your answer, princess?"

Baekhyun sputtered nonsense, flustered. But in the end he just snatched Chanyeol's hands from holding his chin. The CEO thought that Baekhyun didn't want him touching his face but the elder was shocked when Baekhyun tugged him out of the shore, leading his way back to Kai's place without letting go of his hand.

With a winning smile, Chanyeol caught up with his princess and walked beside him, rather than just following him. "Is this a yes, princess?" he wiggled his brows, playfully nudging the younger to tease him. Baekhyun stumbled side wards, but he didn't stop walking.

"Don't be so full of yourself, Mr. Park. You just said that you're going to court me, and I'm not yet saying yes," Baekhyun mumbled, but loud enough for the CEO to hear. All of a sudden, everything spun and the next thing that Baekhyun knew is that he was in Park Chanyeol's arms and the latter twirled around in glee.

"Chanyeol!" Baekhyun squeaked, his hands supporting himself on the elder's shoulders. But in that spur of the moment, when Baekhyun met Chanyeol's eyes, he thought that he would never want to see those pair of bright and loving eyes dim out.

And when his own feet settled on the ground—no, not the sand, but on Chanyeol's feet—he felt the gravity pulling him towards the elder. The warmth that wrapped around his slim figure added by Chanyeol's forehead resting on his, Baekhyun found his home.

"I promise you, Byun Baekhyun," the said man's breath hitched at the sudden seriousness of Chanyeol's tone. His eyes, passionate and piercing, settled on his. The tip of his nose was brushing against his. His lips barely touching his own as he continued, "I will do whatever it takes just to make you mine,"

Baekhyun fought the urge to say that he is. He didn't know when did it start but he has long been Chanyeol's. The elder holds his fragile heart, including the fragments of the walls that he breached. Chanyeol became the center of his life, and he could no longer picture tomorrow without him.

But Baekhyun was just too insecure of himself. He wasn't ready to be in the same plane with the CEO. He knew that there will be a lot of obstacles, considering their relationship at work, and how their personal lives interconnected by the people of their pasts. Baekhyun was afraid that if he committed himself, it would jinx the peace and something bad will happen.

He could only pray for that.

Coming back to the villa was confusing. Baekhyun almost forgot where he came out and how to get inside. But thankfully, he found the cobbled path back to the pool area and there, he found his way inside.

Chanyeol said that he'd be staying out with Kai for a while since his friend wanted to talk to him about business. He told them that he'd just go inside and rest, and now here he was, searching for their room. Kai already told him the directions to the guest room, however, Baekhyun made an idiot out of himself for getting lost.

It wasn't that bad though, for he managed to find the kitchen. He could use some water before going back to his mini "room-hunting" escapade. To his surprise, instead of servants or maids, he found a familiar figure by the kitchen counter, wearing simple shorts and plain white shirt, a little too big for his small frame.
