A firefly in the forest,
A shooting star in the night,
A stray light in the darkness,
A path out of the shadows,
All she needed was a saving guide.
Yearning for something surreal,
And crying silently for affection.
A lone soul within this vast world,
Searching for her true place,
She's a timid girl called Grace.
She watched from the sidelines,
An invisible girl amongst the crowd,
A flower in the wall,
Unnoticed by everyone else,
And enclosed in her own world.
Bespectacled and quiet,
She lived each day alone,
With everyone else, but apart from them.
Breathing the same air yet totally different.
She's blending in and becoming unseen.
No one saw her truly,
She hid behind others,
Camouflaged herself,
And thought she's succeeding,
Not until someone came.
Amidst the crowd, she saw him,
Looking directly at her,
Genuinely smiling from the heart,
A pure soul in her gray world,
The light that she'd been waiting.
Offering his open hand,
He pulled her out from the shadows.
Igniting her soul, opening her heart,
And introducing her to the world,
He made her visible.
Clouds gave way to sunshine,
Gray blossomed to pink,
Loneliness to happiness.
Heart skipping a beat,
In his arms, she finally lived.
His gaze warmed her heart,
Painting a rosy world.
She gave him her all,
Trust and love, body and soul,
She found her happy ending.
A prince in a white horse,
Saving the lonely princess.
It was a fantasy for her,
And she forgot the real world,
That love comes with pain.
Feels like heaven but hurts like hell,
Falling in an endless abyss,
She was left hanging,
Emptier than before,
Broken than ever.
Tears and pain overflowed,
Shattering her heart,
And shrouding her soul.
From gray to pink to black,
Her world returned in the dark.
Grace stumbled and fell,
With all the deceptions and lies.
A deceitful soul he was,
For playing with her love,
And for wrecking her life.
She gave up everything,
Yet he never gave them value.
He stole everything,
And Grace was left with nothing,
But a fertile womb.
Crestfallen,
Her heart in ruins,
Her psyche in chaos.
Grace wanted nothing else,
But to end the pain she’s feeling.
She's a flower in the wall no more,
But a staggering, lifeless soul.
Barely breathing, a crimson hand over womb,
River of life oozing, draining,
As two heartbeats stopped beating.
Falling in an endless sleep,
Grace found peace.
