About a week went by and the boys were silent. Not one word was exchanged, only glares from Kankri. Karkat would just give him back the same expression. Signless would walk in on one of these staring matches and shake his head. He finally came in on Karkat giving Kankri the middle finger and this was the last straw.

Signless walked into the middle of them and glared at the both of them.

"Boys this is getting ridiculous! Your brothers, your suppose to love each other!" Karkat rolled his eyes. Kankri huffed and crossed his arms.

"Father I refuse to be related to this ignorant and pathetic excuse of a human being." Kankri looked away. Karkat let a growl escape his mouth as he became red with anger. His brother had no right to call him a pathetic excuse for a human. That was crossing the line and Signless knew that. Signless grabbed Kankri by the collar of his sweater and pulled him into the living room.

"How dare you think that your better than your brother!" Signless raised his voice. "Everyone is equal! Have I taught you nothing? Thinking that your brother is any lower then yourself is a sin Kankri." He softened up and frowned looking to the floor with a sigh. "I thought I raised you better than this..."

Kankri was starting at the floor. He was feeling miserable at this point. His father was right, he wasn't better than anyone else. He has been acting like a spoiled sinful, brat, but his brother was the issue. He kept adding fire to the flame. His father sighed and looked back to Kankri.

"Your grounded for a week. And if you don't apologize to your brother you will be punished." Signless left the room silently but stopped for a moment. "Go to your room and think about what you have done." Without another word Sgnless went to the front porch to do some reading.

Kankri stood there hearing his fathers words echo in his mind. He felt a tear roll down his cheek and he went to his room. He opened the door and walked in quietly closing the door behind him. As he walked toward his bed and laid down he felt his cheeks burn and his eyes get wetter. In no time his had his face in his pillow sobbing.

Karkat had made his way to the door and could hear his brother crying. He suddenly felt a pang of guilt hit him like a punch to the gut. He didn't realize he had made his brother this upset, the brother that always kept his cool, always had that poker face on even in hard times. Now he's just laying in his bed sobbing because of his ignorant younger sibling. He had to fix this. But how? Apologizing was so dificult for Karkat, but that seemed like the only option.

Karkat walked down the hall and quietly cracked the door open. He saw Kankris back was facing him so he walked in as soundlessly as he could an dsat on the edge of the bed. Kankri sniffled and didnt move.

"What do you want, to make fun of me for crying like a child, to tell me that I deserved to get yelled at, or maybe to tell me how much you hate me?" Karkat stared at Kankris back. Wow... Kankri isn't holding back anymore is he.

"Kan... I," he took in a huge breath. "I am so sorry..." Kankri heard the words but wasn't sure if they were real or part of his mind trying to make him feel better. He sat up and looked at Karkat. There was Karkat looking at him with his big grey eyes. The tears already staining his face as much as Kankris. All he could think was how hard it must have been for Karkat to apologize, and he knew it was sincere. Without any hesitation Kankri wrapped his arms around Karkat pulling him into a tight hug.

"I except your apology. Thank you... And I am sorry for my actions as well." Karkat put his arms around Kankris neck, burying his face into Kankris sweater. He was so warm and it felt so good. Kankri smiled, this was such a nice embrace, he didn't want it to end but Karkat pulled away and wiped his face.

"I better get out of here before dad yells at me." Kankri nodded.

"Good idea." With that Karkat got up and left the room. Kankri grabbed an old shirt and wiped his face. Kankri smiled remembering the hug. That was the first time that has ever happened and he wanted to do it again...

Karkat made his way to his room and sat at his desk. He had a weird feeling growing in him and he didn't know what it was, maybe him apologizimg messed him up. Karkat shrugged amd got into bed. Some sleep should fix it...
